freeair20: I think its either signing it at the FI (a guy from my group signed it there - maybe cause he declared tattoo - and he received GC same day as me) or getting it prior to GC over email (thats how I got it). I believe its something you must sign before your approved to get a GC....but I am not from recruitment

Hey Guys,

I'm from Sao Paulo and will be attending the next OD here...
I've been around in Europe before and I always thought about being a Cabin Crew as I love to travel, but it's too boring to sit on the plane doing nothing the whole trip!

I have some friends in Lufthansa and TAM, and some of them have been talking to me about Emirates, but I've never pay attention before, and now it kind of grew huge in me, and I really wanna be a crew member.

I work right now at one hotel where the Emirates' crew do their layover.

Anyone else from Sao Paulo doing the next OD?

hello to everyone!!!
i'm new here and I have some questions!!!!Hope not to annoy you

I have to choose betwin two open days either I go to th one on 24 sept in rome, italy or to the one on 8 oct in bari, italy.
i guess that in bari there will be lesser persons, and i will have a bit more time to study. on the other hand i have to spend money to stay there and i think that if its my time to get the GC than i get it as well in rome than in bari.... what do you think???
do you think that going an open day with lesser persons gives you a bigger possibility to get to the FI?
thanxs

amirababy as a general rule look at this picture (by Sodwee),
GREEN = OK GO
RED = NO GO

The original image is provided in Sodwee's blog which I recommend you to read. Google this: "Tattoos & Emirates. Flash Update. The Red Polo Case."

There are very few exceptions, however, if you're a male then they may let you join with tattoos in your forearm area (they should be covered at all times). In the leg area specifically, above the knee is OK. Below the knee I wouldn't know but I would say it's also ok as males wear pants all the time.
If you are female, then follow the image strictly.

Today my status changed into "You will be contacted by your recruitment coordinator..." is it mean that I will definitely get my Golden Call?

Hey guys, well first of all, I applied 3 times, 3 times I got selected, first of all I apply to get self tested... 2nd I apply, to be safe and always have a parachute. It is not true, that if you refuse, you cant get trough for the 2nd time. And about nov 7 I am sure 99% I got an email, saying that Im on 380, when I moved the date, I got confirmed email that I am o 380 as well, we asked date of join for my girlfriend, its the same 7th of nov, and she is on a380.. so no doubts here.

About working for ek, well you will see the world, but you will see certain cities, and usually for vocations, people are heading home. And I am here, at home with ID tickets already, the only thing here in europe is, that all companies are unstable (with few exceptions)
Anyways, im still considering... so still we might be coleagues... If you have any questions please ask

Hello, first off all, poor cat , as imagine you might get dxb-syd flight via some other town, you wont be at home for 6 weeks, ok you are lucky if your room mates would be a home, but lets say the cat will be alone for 5 days.. mhhhh stress isin't it?

Now as I found out, there are some flats with some animals, so it is not 100% NO, but I BELIEVE its 95% that you will get accomodation pets are not allowed.

a380 vs mainfleet, a380 slightly bigger pay, as a380 does only one turnaround and the rest are layovers. Downside is that a380 at the moment has just a 14-15 destinations, and some are nightmare like Toronto , because of very demanding pax.

380 and pets?

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone had any information regarding the A380 and the percs and an cons to being placed as crew versus main fleet.
also if anyone knows if pets (cats, specifically a single cat) are allowed in company accomodation . I already assume that if i can bring my cat over i will need to organise the relocation permits and certificates myself , still if anyone has any info about the accomodation and the policys around pets i'd be very gratefull .

amirababy trousers are only for certain flights like Saudi Arabia, but I don't know if you can 'choose' to wear them all the time (for example for religious reasons), I'd say it's very likely that you can't choose to be in pants all the time...
Maybe anyone knows more about this?

Skirt vs Pants

I'm intrigued aswell with this pants vs skirt thing. When emirates crew come into my hotel, they are mostly using skirts, but once I saw a girl checking out and she was in pants.
Anyone knows about pants vs. skirt?

sibilasibila Your question has been asked tons of times before, read back at least from page 1 of this thread.
In the meantime, the weight of the cabin crew must be in the normal range (not below, not above) and that is calculated with Body Mass Index: Healthy Weight: Assessing Your Weight: BMI: Adult BMI Calculator: Metric | DNPAO | CDC
If the weight is borderline the limits, they take into account the proportions of the body.

Females are given skirts and pants. You can choose to wear either, but you will always get one pair of pants and three skirt. So, lots of laundry if you do a lot of flights! Perhaps it is possible to buy an extra pair at own cost, but I do not think you can- it is usually for replacement only.

Pants are RECOMMENDED for Saudi flights (RUH,JED, MED, *especially* during Ramadan) but this is not enforced.... yet...

I heard a rumour that the tattoo rules still applys for females because pants MAY be phased out one day. Do not know if this is true or not, but I would follow the guide for now.

Pets- you may be able to take your cat (even if it against the rules) but will you be able to bring it BACK again? In Australia or UK, quite difficult I heard. you need lots of papers and can be very expensive. Better to get someone you know to loo kafter him/her. And perhaps give a home to a cat here in a shelter if you must have one. Pleanty of them around

Thank you for the light in the skirt vs. pants thing ThatRedHatGirl !!
I wonder if EK directly rejects females with tattoos on the legs below the knee, for example calf area. Mine are in the ankles so I guess they'd be seen either with skirts or with pants (the latter if I sit down).
Anyways, with the amount of good candidates out there without tattoos... I'm still having mine removed
