Newyorker212: I don't know if that's true but I heard that they make you do the test if your highest education is high school. If its diploma you don't have to do it. For example: In my group I know for me and another guy (both still students) who had to do it and got in...another guy didn't have to do it (he's got masters degree) and also got in. So no point in guessing if it's a bad or a good sign, I think it just depends on your education level.

Lateral Thinking Test
I also did the test after my interview, I asked what it was for and was told it was because I had not yet finished my degree, I took it, and I am going in November.
There were some who didn't take it even though they don't have degrees, some have been offered a job and some haven't...
Personally, I believe there are traits that show in the personality test that require you to take it...but it could be for any reason!
There is no point worrying about the tests
, easier said than done, I know.
Relax, the hardest part is over.

Hi All
Firstly thank you for all the great posts, they have helped so much.
I just have on question...I had my FI on the 12 September and my profile still says "Approval In Progress". Some people that where with me have been called already and got in, where as others still say "Under Review".
Does anyone know what this means and if its a good or bad thing for me?

Does anybody know when you are allwoed to have a vacation so that you can go one or two weeks to your home town? After 6 months or one year of working at Emirates?

Guys!! When I had my final interview i wasn't asked to do the other test... and i was so upset because I thought that this was a very bad sign.
But I received my golden call after 2 weeks, so definitely this is not a good or bad sign because there is some people who were asked to do it and some people who not.
Obviously, there is a reason for everything, this is not random, but nobody know when they ask for the second test and when they don't.
I do have a Degree, just in case this helps

thanks. i emailed them twice for my diploma and certificates. this waiting is crazy. one of the girls from my fi is approval in progress now too. mine is still under review, a little over 2 weeks now. no emails yet about grooming standards and uniform, etc.

when I went to the interview I had a couple of pics I wanted them to choose from and the recruiter chose the one with me smiling and showing teeth. They kept going on and on about teeth so I think it does contribute....just look at all their ads and videos....they all may not be drop dead gorgeous but have really nice smiles..

don;t know if any of u guys can help me. Have applied to work as groudn staff with EK at Dublin as they are handling themselves. I've applied for normal agent, and supervisor as i have previous experience in working with EI at JFK for my internship at University. This was only 2 years ago. Ive just finished my degree, in marketing and worked as a team leader at Argos for 4 years as well as opened 2 stores and hired and trained all of the staff, all before i was 21. (24now). Applying for supervisor positions in the past i have found companies to be quite ageist, and always came up against situations at my previous employment because of my age and being in a responsible position compared to those that were older than me. Anyways any help any of you guys could give me for interviews with EK, assuming I will get one, hopefully, would be greatly appreciated.
As well, I was fully trained on EI's check in system ASTRAL, and I know that EK use the MARS systems and from what I remember I think its quite similar to ASTRAL, can anyone confirm this that has experience on both?????

You probably haven't heard anything because you haven't sent everything. At my final interview, my casual photos were not clear enough and they told me if they needed more casual photos, that they would let me know via email. They emailed me for more casual photos so i sent that. Than they sent the image and uniform standards form.
A friend of mine who also made it to the final interviews, she has been waiting also for over four weeks now and has heard nothing, no emails.
I just found out that one of the girls that went for the FI got a rejection email
Now im worried.

You'll be fine. I waited over 6 weeks until I received my GC.
In the mean time what I would suggest is looking at previous Emirates threads and read up on other peoples experience. Especially the medical portion of it. The situation that youre currently in, there have been quite a few people who was once there too.
Be patient. :-)

casual photos
Hi everyone, one question on the photos, do we take casual photos on the open day interview or they ask for them at the FI? And if so, what type of clothes can we put on that are acceptable, thanks for all the posts. Good luck to all.

so i mailed them all my missing documents, so hopefully theyll receive it in 3 business days, that way ill be sure they have all of it. i will try and think no news is good news. finally i can breathe and wait patiently.
