Hi all!
I have a question. I attended the open day in Houston two weeks ago. Fro that open day, around 17 of us made it to the final interview. About half of that group has kept in touch by email. One week after the final interview, about 3 people received their grooming email and I believe their status has also changed to "Approval in progress". The rest of us haven't received anything yet.
My question is, does anyone know what this means? Do they accept people on an individual basis, or do they accept everyone at the same time? Has anyone ever heard of a situation where some people from a final group get their GCs weeks before other people in the group get theirs? I'm a little worried because I'm thinking they have accepted everyone they are going to accept from our group, which leaves me with no GC

Robt424! I believe there are many things that decide on who gets the GC first:
- did you provide them with everything they asked for at the FI (all the photos, documents, ...) - this can speed up the process a lot
- when did you write you could start? (those with earliest availibility will be contacted first)
- did you maybe sign the uniform and tattoo form on your FI? Some get to sign it there, some don't (I think it depends if you declare a tattoo at the last stage, then you sign this usually on FI)
- also...did you apply online? What does your status says?
I think it's NOT all black beacuse some has received the grooming email (just didn't get to sign it at the FI probably) and others didn't. BE POSITIVE! They told us we could wait up to six weeks to get some news
. No news is good news for now! Keeping my fingers crossed for all of us waiting for that GC

IQ Test after Final Interview
Hi there everyone,
I wish you could help me out here. I did my final interview last tuesday, which I believe it went good. But after that they gave me an IQ test, who I know that give it out randomly. Do you know some people who got this test and still got hired? Do you think it is a negative thing to be given an IQ test? I really wasnt prepared for it and I honestly dont know how I did I was all stressed out...
Please any replies would help!! Thanks so much!!

ntello - thanks for sharing, getting some hope reading your post since i had my FI in May and so far i have not heard anything from them.
waiting time - i think that so long you do not get your reply you cannot say you have been selected or not. like i said am waiting for more than 3 months now and i have not heard anything yet - no email/no phone calls/no change of status!!!! for sure waiting kills but what to do, things not in our hands.
for the others going to their AD - well i may tell you about my AD
1st group discussion - introduce the person on your right plus discuss five places you would recommend someone to do/visit in your country and why.
2nd - english test (essay - a mistake we did and what we learnt from it)
3rd - group discussion - name 5 personalities of the 21st century and we also had to say we chose them among so many.
however do not prepare on some topics because questions may be related to anything - be prepared for the unexpected!!!

1st group disscusion: introduce person sitting on your right, then a group disscusion about wheter our country should stay in EU or not (whay yes, why not)
English test and essay (three personality tricks we would change or improve on us)
2nd group disscusion: we were cabin crew and had an emergency landing in a remote area - choose 5 things to take off the plane (from 10 things on the list) and order them from the most to the least important - and of course say why! Other gruop had similar disscusion - from 10 pax they had to put 5 to bussiness class, others had to remain in economy - they had to decide who to upgrade and why (pax were actress, politician, ...).
I think you can't really prepare, beacuse its always something new - but it is very important to get everything you say in group (especially in 2nd) well argumented as they will ask for it!

1st group discussion: introduce the person sitting on your right and what year of his-her life would like to relief, that was while doing the reach test. And then our group was discuss three places we would recommend to a group of tourist visiting our country (Spain) and why. The other group had to discuss three aspects of the tourism in our country to improve.
2nd - English test (essay: three aspects of your personality you would like to improve and why)
3rd group discussion: there were two wealthy investors who wanted to invest money and make a movie. We had to decide a type of movie (comedy, drama), discuss a name, choose and actor and actress and build an story. After we were asked what effects we would add to convert the movie into a 4D movie (we didn't know what to say... because we decide a love-comedy movie, and it wasn't that easy)

I Received my GC today! I will be leaving for dubai on the 14th of november!
Here are all my dates in order.
OD: 20th August
AD: 21st August
FI : 24th August
approval in progress: 30th August
Grooming email: 6th September
you will be contacted at the earliest: 8th September

Mmm007 Congratulations!! According to your question... I don't know what to say... but I think it should be fine, because on the portal the first thing that you have to do is accept the contract, and then you have to upload some information for security, and some info about your family.... and after you have to start with the medicals...
If I were you I would let you recruitment coordinator know about your situation when they call you.

and the day has come and the waiting begins again
Hi all, today was my FI.
I along with almost all the other people did a test after, my photos which I thought were perfect had a whole lot of problems, size, clarity, even casual pics, sent a bunch more through now. all the other documents are in and now all I have to do is wait...
I think it went well, not sure, you never really can be I suppose.
There were ultimatly 11 of us who made the FI. They are all lovely people. I got to know some right away at the open day and others only closer to the end like today. Hope I get to see everyone in Dubai soon.

Im sorry to post again so soon!
Im in school right now but will be done by December 22. There is an OD on October 13 that I want to go to (because Im afraid that they are going to be done their mass hiring by the beginning of November), but would it work against me that I cant say that I can join asap?

HELP...
I had my FI in Wellington on the 28th August. There was about 45 of us to start with, then there was only 6 of us who made it through to the final. I still haven't heard anything and my status on my account still reads 'under review'
The suspense is weighing me down like a lead balloon! I was told at FI that we should hear from EK within 3 weeks!
Any guidance...?
