Question
Hi all I have a question!
I overstayed my Australian visa for 6 months 1 year ago. Does anyone know if it will it effect me flying into the country as cabin crew? and should i say anything to Emirates? I would really appreciate any advise.

Tabby, from what I know as long as your remaining teeth are healthy and the missing ones are not visible when smiling, it should be okay. Someone posted the medical form on here, do a search and you can read what it says about the teeth.
NixNix, I would be careful about the visa. Perhaps best to check direct with the nearest Australian embassy/Consulate to your country. It can depend on the reason and if you were working illegally as well as overstaying.
Australian immigration is quite strict, most people will have a ban on re-entry into the country on any kind of visa if they have overstayed. As soon as you used the passport then it would come up on their screens.... (they can see any fine or problem that you previously had going into/out of Australia if officially recorded- e.g. if you ever got a fine from Quarantine, if you ever got turned back at the border etc)
Since one year has passed it might be there won't be any problem. If I were you I'd call & check before you apply to EK. If you apply and they knock you back because of the visa problem, you might not get another chance. At worst, the Aussie government will tell you there is a ban and you'll have to wait it out until the ban is finished. People who have gotten a temporary ban (1 2 or 3 years usually) are almost always okay to come back once the time has passed.
(I have friends in customs, this is how I know about this stuff, hope it helps)

Thank you for the advise. Hmm I have called them. They said when EK try to get my visa for Australia it might come up. She said I should tell EK and then Australia will probably waver it. If it comes from EK them self. But i'm a bit worried about what EK will say and if they will find it a problem. I also wonder they must have people that have done the same thing. What do you think?

grooming email + GC?
Hi all,
I attended the FI about 2.5 weeks ago and I received the grooming email a few days ago. Signed and returned. I am feeling all great until one of the girls in my group got her the GC and now feeling really edgy! Can't stop thinking about it. Anyone in similar position?
One question for all those who received their GC, did they call you at your home or mobile? My mobile was stolen and therefore no calls could made to that number temporary.
Good luck to everyone and have a great day!!!!

Year of waiting
Hello people
I just wanted to ask you something... I got rejected last year after mi final interview, according the rejection mail I could reapply after the period of ONE YEAR, the thing is that they're coming to my city 3 weeks before my waiting ends, I mean, after 11 months and a week of waiting...
I was wondering if I should e-mail HHRR in DUbai and ask them the question... Maybe they are a little bit relaxed in those cases.
Otherwise I should wait more than 6 extra months (they barely come to my country) or spend a lot of money just to make a try...
Does any of you have some experience about this?
Do they any exception when the time is ALMOST over?
Thank yoU!!!
Thank you!!!!

angelk - some people got their reply within the 2-6 weeks while some got later

Are you serious with your questions? Because after all these threads and the people sharing what they did and how they did it such a question is not to be asked i mean you can't even figure out how to apply for a job ?
Please some respect and read all the threads that's what i did nobody told me what to do

A.D without an Invitation
Hi,
I hope everybody is doing great. I have a quick question. Has anybody gone to an A.D without an Invitation before? and if so, what happened?
Thanks

AD without invitation
Hi Masrawy!
You are going to Cairo AD, right?
I applied for that one too and I have not got the invitation either. it seems that only really few people did. I saw somebody on this forum writing that she/he was invited.
Do you know where will it take place? I think I will wait till the next AD in September as it is really hard for me to go to Cairo now (I am in Sharm El Sheikh)
About your question-I have attended one AD with Emirates already and there were people who came without invitation. They were just asked to hand in their CV and to fill in some forms if I am not mistaken. But I remember well that they were allowed to join the process. Maybe something has changed now because it was more than a year ago. In any case if you are in Cairo and you know the place you have nothing to lose, just go and give it a try. Just make sure to have your CV and photos and passport copies with you.
Good luck to you! Let me know how it will go!
