status still applied
Hi everyone, I also applied for the August AD in Nairobi 3 weeks ago and my status is still applied. Is this bad news because most people have either been invited or not shortlisted. Do I still go for the assessment and find out from the recruiters or do I wait? I just want this so bad like most of us here. Who else is going? Anyone who shares this same problem? Thanks, I sure do need some encouragement.

as I know I would have been happy to read some advices and not do the ''mistakes'' I did, here are some advices:
don't stress if for some reason you cant get over with medicals or passport before the 2 weeks they give you after the golden call and contract, I wrote them and told them I will be late 3 days and they told there is no problem, just to let them know when I finished!
second, when you go to your blood work, tell them you need only the HEMOGLOBINE (HGB) from your blood (apart the deseases I mean) because they did a complete blood result and I have to redo the analises now because I want to send only the hemoglobine and not all others.
third, dont send x-rays on the portal, send only the doctor's report, you have to carry the x-rays in dubai with you, not send them on the portal.
the medicals they ask are: blood -hemoglobine, hepatitis B and syphilis.
-x-ray of chest, and in the report the doctor must write your lungs are clean and heart is in normal position.
-opthalmic report if you have to wear correction
- vaccines you have to do before joining (you can choose not to, but they recommend you do some of them)
- dental check and before joining the X-ray and bitewings
-pap/smear test for females, again you can choose not to, but in this case emirates won't medically cover any type of problem with this in the future
Hope I have been useful. Goodluck to all, at whatever level of joining you are

Got the golden call!
Hi all,
I received my golden call this afternoon. Here's the breakdown:

I am really excited and can't wait to start doing medicals!
Anyone has the same DOJ (12 Sept) as me?

Just because when I was in the waiting game I had been searching so much to find people in the same situation as mine so here is my story
18th of june: OD and AD (we did it all in one day)
17th of july: Grooming email
20th of july : you will be contacted by your recruiter
Know that my status NEVER changed from APPLIED. It never went to Approval in progress or under review..nothing. From applied right away to you will be contacted, ...
23th of july: GC
5th of sept: DOJ
Good luck to all, if any questions dont hesitate and as long as you do not get the Rejection email you should keep your hopes high.

Sky Walk
Induction week before training starts
Here's how mine was back in December
Day 1-We were welcome into the company as they remind us that out of thousands of applicants, we are very fortunate to be selected. They also introduced us to our cabin crew managers and gave us our salary advance. Different talks from different departments: fire talk, accommodation talk, HR admin forms and EPIN distribution, paper works, etc.
Day 2- free day for us
Day 3- Our Dubai City tour, Jumeirah Mosque visit and Dubai Museum tour by Arabian adventures.
Day 4- HR business support talk, STD and malaria talk with the EK clinic nurse, employee assistance talk and went to Emirates HQ to fill out our clinic registration form.
Day 5- We got fitted today for our uniform, hat and shoes. Then we went through on the Uniform standards guidelines: how to wear our hair, what kind of earrings we could wear, rings, etc. you name it. Cabin bag was given out!
Day 6- Emirates headquarter for medicals which ate most of our time. Lots of sitting and waiting around. We also have our photo ID card taken, they gave us our employee handbook and our emergency manual which is really thick.
Day 7- We had our teambuilding interpersonal skills customer journey where we got a preview of our customer service training. We also got to know each of our batch mate as we talk about different cultures, getures, greetings, food, ocassions, etc. We had different sorts of activities throughout the day and overall,we all just had fun.
Day 8-Last day of our induction week and our friday here. We had an IT lesson in the morning where they taught us how to access our own cabin crew portal in the Emirates website. It was quite a boring day and I just could not wait for the day to be over. In the afternoon, we had the corporate induction. Where they showed us videos regarding the history of Dubai, welcomed us again into the company. We even get to sit down in the Majlis to have an arabian coffee and dates. We end the day with an activity where we have to act out the Emirates’ values.
Day 9 and 10- weekend,a good 2 day break
Day 11- Went to the government hospital to do chest x-ray and bloodwork.
Day 12- Training begins...SEP week 1

Cabin Crew interview
I have an interview coming up next month. I have no idea what to expect - ive never been cc before and would really like to get throught the assessment day - i hear its quite tough and they cut applicants throughout the day. Any advice for me to make sure I got to the 2;1 interview? Does anyone also know whether the book, how to ace the emirates interview is any use??

Days off in the main fleet
Hello guys. I know that in the A380 fleet you can get like 4 or even 5 days off straight. I wonder whether the same is possible in the main fleet as well. Thanks!

If you took the trouble to register in this forum, to look for the thread and to post a message, please take the trouble to read the thread from the beggining (at least version IX from page 1).
If you're willing to move to another country by yourself, I hope you're also ready to look for things on your own from the start!

Anyone applying for ADs in Argentina?

Hello everybody! I am new around here but I am so glad I found the forum. I attended the Budapest open day but unfortunately didn't get called back after cv drop off. It was a good learning experience though. Does anyone know how many have made it for the final interview?

OD/AD
Hey guys, i have noticed that no more open days and assessment days are coming up from October onwards. I have a friend who recently got the job at emirates and he said they told him they are hiring more people than ever. They are hiring 60ppl a week however it doesn't look like any movement is happening in October onwards. Does anyone know what the hold up may be or if they will even have OD's and AD's in Oct Nov and Dec???
