you are absolutely right...HR people must be going crazy right now with all these paperworks they have to deal with so for those of you who are waiting, just be patient. No call is still a good news.

It's finally coming together...
Hello all! Here's my stats, for all of those waiting and waiting for the GC or status changes.
FI- June 4
Submitted Docs- June 14th
Resubmitted Docs (photos lost by UAE)- July 6th
"Approval in Progress"- July 17th
Grooming Email- July 21st
GC- July ?? ??
I was also told you should expect to wait 2-3 weeks after your documents have been submitted (finalized & received by UAE) before you hear anything back from them. I wish everyone here a lot of luck & encourage you to all stay positive- if I was hiring I'd take almost everyone who makes it past the first group session. Anyone who makes it that far deserves respect in my eyes. Hope to see some of you in Dubai!
And it is true, just because your friends get the GC doesn't mean you're not getting yours. Two people I met at the interview got their GC on July 17th. I'm still not there, but I'm still in the running!

Hi all
Here's my experience.
Assessment day : 07 May 2011
Final Interview : 09 May 2011
Application Under review : 12 May 2011
You will be contacted at the earliest 20 June 2011
Golden call : 22 June 2011
Joining Date : 22 August 2011
It is a very stressful and overwhelming experience going through the EK screening and interview process and at the end they only take the best and the best only.
I applied several times to get an invite - it took awhile but at the end it was worth while.
If this is what you really want then keep trying and fight for what you want, nver become despondent keep trying. I like to believe that good things come to those who wait.
Good Luck to those who are in the process, Having the AD soon and to those who are waiting. All the best
cheers for now

To arvind74 & all others with the same questions-
I waited for the six week mark, and sent them an email. They got back to me seven hours later and changed my status to "approval in progress," and got the famous grooming form five days later. Someone else I met at the FI emailed within ten minutes of me and did NOT receive a response, ever. His status was left untouched for for four additional days and changed to "approval in progress" at that point. I guess it's just whoever happens to read emails that day and how many they can get through.

Bub89y2k
Hello everybody. I have been waiting enough, 7 weeks, so I just emailed them wit my question. Thank you Bub89y2k for sharing your experience with us. Maybe my status will change too. I'm still not loosing my hope.
Arvind74, I'm really shocked that they have not responded to your email. Three weeks, that's so unprofessional. The only explanation may be that they are unbelievably busy. But I don't think that they are busy enough not to send us rejecting emails. They would tell you right away if they don't want you. Maybe they are just waiting for the right moment, who would know?
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for us all.

Waiting Time
Recruitment department is full on BUSY, trust me, when you walk into training college and see all that is happening you begin to realize the big task that they have to do on a daily basis to keep the place moving from ab initios to recurrent to upgrades etc ... Keep in mind also They have no obligations to hire on the spot who ever made it through FI , its a business, as soon as the need for crew comes they start the process of calling who ever is on the waiting game pool (i.e. people waiting for GC) and on top of that you accommodation issues, where they must plan who goes where and more importantly , do they have enough buildings to put the new joiners ! Think of it as a big movie production where the end product is you graduating from training !
To add to speculation, August is going to be a slow month because its Ramadan and office work tends to be on the very very slow side
Good luck

GC!
Hi everyone,
I finally got my GC a few days ago and here's my status.
FI: 29 June
You will be contacted: 14 July
GC: 19 July
DOJ: 3 October
For those who have been waiting the GC, I seriously understand how hard the waiting is, but there's always chance until you receive a rejection mail. So look on the bright side and wish you the best!

I am from the East Coast of the United States. I've spent a lot of time in Manhattan, and I can't to return no more than 2 times a year! What was your comment about Americans, why do you need more (assuming you weren't kidding, which you may have been.) Is there really a shortage of us?
