I don't know what to advise you and which way to go with being on hold for Jetstar. It's a difficult situation either way and you just hope that when the time comes...you make the right one.
For those of us who are questioning pays and time frames, etc, there is a contact phone number on Altara's website. Give them a call and ask them directly. It takes out all the guess work and you can then make an informed decision rather than one that is only based on hearsay.

Jetstar and Altara Cas CC MEL interview
Hi,
Can anyone let me know the interview process/day with Altara/Jetstar.
I am attending the Mel interview for casual CC and have no idea on what their day consists of. I have attended past interviews with various airlines before and they were hectic and long days.
Also is anyone attending on the 15th March at the QF building in Airport West?
Appreciate any feedback.

Yeah, I am also attending the RD on Monday 15th... have no idea what the process is like. I wonder if there will be lots of people applying!
Anyway i'd like to know more about the hours, if there will be any overnights at all, ground school dates, how many people they are recruiting for Melbourne base ect... I guess we should know soon... but if anyone knows, spill!

Jq Syd Intl
There is no more JQ crew specifically for "International" route.. It is now either casual with outsource company or with Team Jetstar (which is subsidiary) of Jetstar Airways.. your contract with Team JQ will be base on 3 aircraft .. A320,A321 and A330.. whenever the aircraft goes.. thats where you go..
You will be rostered "predominantly" for either domestic or international, but you will be doing domestic AND international....
Hope that helps.....

Hey Blonde Hostie,
How did you go yesterday at the interview for CC in Melbourne - Did you make it to the final interview?
I did and am awaiting to see if they have called a referee and to see if I am successful!!!
Damn I hate waiting.
However, cannot remember if they said we'll know this week or from today?
Can you recall. Can someone else remember? And is there anyone else who has gone through all the whole day yesterday and today?

Hi there!
I did make it to the final interview, I was so happy to get the call yesterday afternoon and I do believe I did really well, I didn't feel that nervous and was just myself- I think thats really all they want to see (they don't want a 'fake' person who is trying to fit the mould)! Even the waiting for that seemed quite long hehe!
I wonder how long they will take to call my referees, if anyone knows from experience, feel free to say!
From what I recall, they told us they would be contacting us two weeks from our interview date to say whether or not we are successful... gosh I hate waiting, the whole process seems to take forever!

Hi guys,

Just wondering, were the recruiters from Altara or Jetstar & did they shed any light on the actual position in terms of how much work is available & if you get a roster etc? Ive been invited to an assessment day for SEQ base, just waiting on a date....hope its soon

possible full-time Cabin Crew
For those that would love the opportunity to fly with J*, whether that be Team J* or other, is there any chance they're looking to fullfil full-time positions?
Yes, Casual CC is fine (ie. you would be allocated sufficient hours), however applying for a home loan when you're casual cc is quite tough sadly.
Is there any 'inside' word on recruitment (full-time) moving forward??
I see they're currently accepting interest...
Further, would there be a base that would be more likely to be recruiting eg. SEQ over Sydney, or Mel dual base, Per??...
Any insight would be welcome.
Yours onboard

Hey everyone,
I just finished my line training with Altara as casual cabin crew and I was part of the second group to go through..
I am also interested in going full time and found that it is completely possible.
Its a way for Jetstar to 'weed' people out. My in flight trainer was sure that in a few months time after positive reports from cabin managers and base mangers that full time would definately be an option.
I would encourage you all to take the casual opportunity because it is the exact same training as full timers, same rostering, etc. just less job stability, but if you work hard and put your hand up for available shifts... they will give it to you. because from what i have heard talking to team jetstar, a lot of employees go sick and theyre desperate for fill ins
hope that helps, and clears a few things up
good luck to you all though.

Height
Hi guys,
I have a recruitment day with Altara/Jetstar next week and was just wondering how strict they are with height? I remember in the job ad it said minimum of 163cm (desireable) and obviously this is without shoes. What would happen if someone was 1-2cm under this minimum? If they were an impressive applicant would this allow them to scrape through? I know the min/max heights are put in place for safety reasons but just wasnt sure HOW strict Altara/Jetstar are? I know Qantas are very strict and turn people away and Virgin are pretty relaxed (as they use a reach test). Advice anyone?

Phew!
Thanks Leis, that makes me feel much better! I have never been measured as the same height! Ive been meassured as 164cm all the way down to 160cm (by professionals in medicals too!) I think im about 162cm, but am hoping they dont mind if im 1-2 cm under! (It did say 'desireable' not 'must be'). Thanks so much for the info!
