Darwin Base?
Does anyone on here know anything about the Darwin base situation?
I know they had interviews 2 months ago but no one has heard anything yet......!
I'm losing my mind to know what is going on?

No, I havnt heard anything since my interview 2 months ago. I'm thinking bout giving them a call (if I can get their number) & asking what is happening...! What does everyone think of that idea?

Same here. Did my interview in dec for full time syd, was placed on hold file in early feb... And nothing since. Have tried numerous times to call recruitment but I keep getting directed to the wrong department or told that there is no way for me to speak to someone in recruitment...
I guess waiting is all we can do. Reading a few past posts though: am I right in saying that the casuals working through altara have the opportunity to obtain full time positions after a certain period of time?

I'm on active hold for jetstar full time, however I have been invited to attend the casual recruitment day.
I have no idea when/if jetstar will call me for the full time position so I'm thinking of going for the casual. However, I don't like the idea of working casual does anyone have any information on how much work you get etc??

Has anyone heard back from Altara re: Jetstar SEQ casual? I tried to reply to the email that I got saying that I was on active hold, to ask how long I'll be on hold from, and it spat the email back saying the address was invalid?

JQ recruited casuals to cover the amount of sick leave for crew. They cant offer work to the casuals until all avenues have been used to roster flying to the full timers.. If there is any flying left over they will then roster the casuals on.

Are Team Jetstar ever going hold recruitment days (full-time!) in the near future?
They have been accepting interest for some time now, and casual flying doesn't neccessarily cut it for some with financial commitments month-to-month.
I thought they were getting a bunch of new a330, which meant up to 200 more crew spots.
Interesting times.

I am on hold for full time, however I've heard nothing from team jetstar since they emailed me in feb to let me know.
From what I've heard, jetstar are not hiring full time, they're doing it all through altara casuals and offering the casuals full time positions as they're needed.
That's just hearsay, so you never know!

I dont really understand why Jetstar hiring casual in Sydney base as they have people on hold for Sydney base...
I also heard in Feb that Jetstar is getting a couple of new A330-200s in this year.

I don't understand why they're doing it either. It's so frustrating being put on hold. And then them employing casuals instead. I'll be surprised if I'm ever taken off hold.

There is alot going on throughout Jetstar and they are having a huge influx of new crew because of the new A330's coming in. I also heard rumours (from a reliable CC for Qantas, 11 years in the company) that Jetstar will be offering full-time positions "perth" based to existing Jetstar crew members which will certainly make space for new Casuals and Full-timers on active hold.
