Top Tips!!!!

Congratulations to all that get through!
Alcohol certificate is much appreciated by management and HR department...so go for it!!

I think Jetstar is a good choice for anyone starting out, but I definately beleive you should use your work experience to try out for a full service airline first!

Neverless...If you do decide to join Jetstar, that is fine but do not spend too long before moving on to a full service role!!

Good luck!!

Shiny Aviator's original post was very tongue n cheek...don't think they meant any offense. Never the less the post has been edited to remove any items that may have caused distress.

Personally I thought it was quite funny; having flown for 19 years...one of the best assets you can bring to the role is a good sense of humour; the ability to laugh at yourself, your company and any situation that may arise. Seeing the funny side of situations is sometimes a far better way to deal with situations that crop up, rather than getting upset or stressed.

Why thank you Muizenberg

Why thank you Muizenberg,

Yes it was just a small little take on things...Ive been flying now for 7 years and yes we do have alot of fun... Just for the record...I did start out in a low cost airline myself and I do not regret it, however at some point of my career I recall coming in off a red eye double sector and we were made to clean the aircraft after as it was continuing on, the crew were all so tired we would to a terrible job of cleaning and would often kick the odd rubbish item under the chairs and pretend we did not see awful items in the seat pockets...These days as a dedicated business class crew member the most cleaning I see after a flight is the girls dabing off the extra bright red lip stick that has migrated from the lip after a quick dazed application after landing in from a 15 hour sector...

Sorry if my first and original post ruffled any feathers...i dont want any heels flying through the cabin at me....

Flew Jetstar though not long ago and my word it was henous

Jetstar Sydney

Hi everyone, I have got a question regarding to Jetstar Sydney base.
Some people from this website say that they are on hold for Sydney base, is that position Domestic or International?
and also what kind of contract is it? coz around that time Jetstar was looking for casual people in Sydney too...
If anyone can tell me, that will be great.
Cheers.

Hey Zoe87,

I think the operational changes are due to a whole lot of casuals starting in Feb/March, this is a new concept for Jetstar and if it takes off casual FA's be the way Jetstar go. Good Luck

jet2010:

I got hold file for syd as a full time position. I was told at my interview that it was for domestic (with the possibility of some international work later on --hopefully)

my interview was mid dec. There is a casual gs going through soon but I'm not sure if there was a full time gs as well- someone else may be able to comment on that though...

Hope this helps.

Full time jetstar- but casual offer...

Hi guys,

I just received an email from recruitment saying: "...We would like to advise that we are creating the opportunity for Casual Cabin Crew and we are doing this together with Altara Resources..."

I am currently up to the final stage of recruitment with jetstar for a full time position but have to wait till there is a g/s before I can complete medical/security.

Can anyone in jetstar, or someone with more knowledge about this update, please help me out?

-should I take this?
-would this mean that full time work would be impossible to get if I do?
-does anyone work under this "casual" group?
-did anyone else get a similar email?

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!! *

I got the email. But I had already received an email from Altara earlier this week saying I had been successful in getting to the interview stage. It is for casual only, so if I were you I would continue waiting it out for full time GS. From my understanding, the recruitment through Altara is something they've never done before. Good luck!

I also received the email.

I'm on active hold for full time, but I had applied with altara before I knew I was on hold.

Altara emailed me and said I'm through to the next round.

I'm unsure on what to do, I don't want to ruin my chances for full time, but I don't want to be stuck on hold forever...

So difficult!
