That's what i thought too.. Unless they've put some people through to GS in Feb, and other's on hold until a later GS? They said something about that when i was at the AD.

very possible, although i was under the impression you got offered the job on the condition you passed your medical/security... but then read old forums and thought i must have misunderstood!
Hopefully more GS are on the way... march/april.. then we should all get through pretty quickly. (if we even get offered a position)

So does it say somewhere that they've offered positions prior to medicals and security checks? Perhaps they do them during GS...

hey all,
i was at the melbourne recruitment day as well, and i also received an email yesterday saying i am on the 'active hold' list. does anyone have any idea what that means?! because i remember at the RD they said that ground school would start in feb which makes me a bit nervous!
good luck for everyone else applying and waiting, the waitings the hardest part!

They told us in Syd GS would start in mid Feb and still i have heard nothing, we are all nervous!
At least you guys have been told you are on a waitlist.. you can't be too far off now!

i really hope that i dont have to wait too long. looking back at older posts has shed some light onto the situation i guess, now i have a better idea of the process. i havnt done medicals or secuity yet, but im still on the active hold list. is there anyone else who is in the same situation? or attended the assessment for melbourne and has all ready done them? i wish i swapped numbers with the people i was talking to on the day!
also, does anyone know of an email address or contact phone number for jetstar recruitment? because since the interview i have obtained a clearnce for the US (i lived there for 2 years) and id like to let them know. or do you think i could just reply to the email address that ive been getting emails from?

Hi Patient People,
I was led to believe that the active hold list was for people who would possibly be called up later in the year when they do further GS? (my understanding from AD). Any Sydney people heard anything yet?

Hi all, I'm new to this site, I have a RD with Team Jetstar in Sydney on Wed 20/1. can anyone shed some light on what to expect. I'm 18 and want to know if any other 18yrs have had any luck in securing a place.

PS- I think I read that someone was wanting to contact HR. I scoured the website and there is no head office number. You can't email the automailer address, however the email that we were provided with when we confirmed our AD dates can be emailed. I remember someone saying that was an active email address! Good Luck!

So are they doing more recruiting in SYD? We're all still waiting to hear back from ours that were in december..man this is so furstrating. NO jade&mink.. haven't heard anything yet..
The RD is fine, it's really relaxed and everyone is lovely... don't be nervous. Just smile and it shouldn't be too hard

thanks for the tip about contacting HR, i looked everywhere on the website and could only find a PO box address! i even tried whitepages, but that only gave me the main number for reservations and stuff. im going to try the email address you said, ill let you know if anything comes from it!

Although i did find that i was the youngest at my RD which surprised me a little...
But if you are the right person for the job, i dont think it matter how old you are!
As long as you demonstraight you are serious & commited and not just thinking "hey ill give being a hostie a go" they should look beyond your age.

JS Recruitment in NZ
We had a RD in in NZ November... I had 2 reference checks done on me in December . They did tell us at the recruitment day that we wouldnt hear anything until 'after xmas' and that GS would be sometime 'early next (this) year'. Just reading the posts on here from you all in Oz and hearing you have started to receive replies about active holds etc is very exciting! I've been sitting here since November waiting SOOOOO patiently, i'm going crazy waiting... Hopefully there may be some NZers on here that can let me know if they have heard anything...???

Hi, I was at the November RD in Auckland and was told that GS would not be until early 2010. I also had 2 reference checks done on me in December. On the subject of hearing from JQ, I too am anxiously waiting. So at least now I know i'm not the only one. Let's hope that they contact us soon.
