I was also at the AD in Syd mid Dec.
My reference checks were completed on Monday.
Has anyone from MEL/SYD been asked to do medical?
Im getting nervous as they said SYD ground school will start mid-late Feb.

Ooooh they just called one of my references. I'm incredibly nervous.
Does anyone have any idea if they call all three??
I really hope we find out soon, this waiting is horrible!

Hey guys,
I was at the AD in MEL on 10/11 and still have not heard anything. At least one of my references has been checked last week.
I'm starting to worry, because they said GS for MEL will start in early FEB, and I'm going to the UK for three weeks this Sunday and I arrive back on Jan 31st!
I honestly didn't think it would take this long.

Make sure you keep checking your email and enable international roaming on your phone!!
Could get a 3am congratulations call though! hahaha
Im stressing about time as i will be relocating to SYD from MEL
Can you send JQ an email explaining your situation and see if they can give you any idea as to when they need medicals done?

Yeah I will definitely have international roaming activated hehe. And I will be refreshing my inbox like crazy, just like I have been!
I was thinking about emailing them, but I don't want to annoy them or have my application impacted in any way.
But I think I might have to email them if I haven't heard anything by the end of tomorrow.

Jetstarwannabe... I doubt you emailing them would effect your outcome!
It's not like your asking if you have the job, just want an idea of timing!

Oh raptor i know the feeling... if i get the job i could be in sydney in the next few months.. scary!

I am prob completely wrong but im liking my theory! ha ha ha.

On Monday there was about 60... and about 20-25 of us came back for the afternoon.
I remember them saying there was only ONE confirmed GS of 25-30.
As for the MEL applicants... if they are planning to start GS early Feb... they would really want to get you off to medicals!
Guess all we can do is check our emails 4739479034720 times a day (as i have been sadly doing!!)

good news I got a email today from jq. Im on active hold untill gs starts. Finally something, even if on wait. Funny that I didn't do the medical and security check and I got the job.

To me that very much sounds like you have the job!
Perhaps once they have placed you in GS they call with the 'congratulations' THEN you do the medical? so strange!

Seems as if the recruitment process has changed - i always under the impression you go into a holding pool once your medicals come back OK.
