SLB was going along the right tracks, but dook has got to the location first. It is Wendover AFB in Utah.

Here are some more images I had lined up - the first two I think would have led you to it much sooner.

Republic-Ford JB-2 - the previous image was a crashed one. The launch site for these is still visible to the south of the airfield.

Not everything is a clue.
Hamstering was referring to the shops currently being sold out due to Corona.
(In the Netherlands they are mainly thinking that toilet paper is running out!)
The pies are obviously related to the airfield.

Freddy Starr eating a hamster sandwich,
I had to look that up.
In Dutch that is a “broodje aap verhaal”.

Next clue:
Would you think a Dutch bakery would print his pie boxes with “built from scratch”???

Good question. I guess there aren't many Dutch hamsters called Scratch :)

Might we be in New Zealand?

Self loading bear 14th Mar 2020 09:27

Not New Zeeland.
By the way it are the cherries which make the pie.

Traverse City, Michigan?

Self loading bear 14th Mar 2020 10:41

Wrong state

dook 14th Mar 2020 11:42

Reading the clues so far could it be Cherryland Airport, Wisconsin ?

Self loading bear 14th Mar 2020 13:58

As we have some hours before a winner can be revealed:
Bonus points can be obtained when the aircraft in the last photo is identified.

Self loading bear 14th Mar 2020 17:17

Cherryland airport Door county Wi
dook has it again.

The cherry pies were ferried to a funeral of a woman who had visited Door county often and had written a book with various pie recipes.

The canned cherries were ferried in 1940

dook 14th Mar 2020 17:31

Thank you Bear - excellent clues.

OH

dook 14th Mar 2020 19:34

By the way Bear,

The aeroplane was the Consolidated Fleetster Model 20A.

What were the bonus points ?
