First guess at Wellesbourne Mountford?

dook 24th Aug 2019 14:45

Your first guess last time was great, but sadly not this time.

The RAF was never here.

dook 24th Aug 2019 15:16

We are not in the UK.

JENKINS 24th Aug 2019 19:06

Does that make it Ardmore?

dook 24th Aug 2019 19:46

It most certainly does.

Brakes off....

JENKINS 24th Aug 2019 20:03

Thanks, much family in New Zealand. Now this. I find that my impression of the history of this field is completely mistaken. I have driven on the road.

Simple...? you know with J,it`s going to be like unravelling DNA....
Are we in UK..? Is that a car-boot sale site at the top end...? USAF or RAF/RN...?

JENKINS 25th Aug 2019 10:35

UK, maybe caravan or lorry storage, Royal Air Force.

Out now for an hour. Good morning.

kenparry 25th Aug 2019 12:24

Was it a Thor base?

ExAscoteer 25th Aug 2019 12:28

RAF Melton Mowbray. Ex Thor site, now the Defence Animal Centre.

OH if correct.

chevvron 25th Aug 2019 12:28

Pie in the sky; mostly pig pies.
ie Melton Mowbray and OH.

Buqqer ex Ascoteer just pipped me!
I've driven along that road too.

JENKINS 25th Aug 2019 12:48

Yes to last 3 answers. I gather that the dogs pre-date the airfield by a World War, when horses mattered. Didn't realise the Ferry nature of the field, thinking it was a training station like Margaret Harborough down the road.

OH declared, let's paint the town red.

Red Paint expression may have originated in Melton Mowbray.

ExAscoteer 25th Aug 2019 18:02

UK Wartime airfield, possibly USAAC?

dook 25th Aug 2019 18:10

No pies here.

Yes to the next question.

chevvron 25th Aug 2019 20:23

Brize Norton before SAC got their hands on it?
