It doesn't look tropical so I'll shoot for Scandinavia or USA.

Asturias56 1st Jul 2019 09:18

Not tropical and not Scandi or USA

Off to work until lunchtime your time

I would judge the runway to be less than a kilometre so if there is the occasional international flight it is probably close to a border and can only take small aeroplanes.

Canada ?

dook 1st Jul 2019 10:53

I've searched Canada and it looks like Miquelon.

It seems it doesn't facilitate international flights.

Asturias56 1st Jul 2019 11:01

Its not Canada but it is Miquelon - which is of course an integral part of La Belle France - same as Bordeaux, Corsica or New Caledonia - it was left over from a war way back and no-one has ever bothered to sort it out. Hence all flights from there to Canada are International flights.............

Thought I might get a bit further with that dodge........................ Over to you

I didn't know that. It came up under Canada though.

Dagua, New Guinea?

dook 1st Jul 2019 15:09

Dagua it is indeed.

All yours.

JENKINS 1st Jul 2019 15:23

Thanks, courtesy of a Canberra recce. Back to the ironing board, but first this. Were there to be a British reg, Golf Juliet Papa Golf Romeo it would be very welcome here.

dook 1st Jul 2019 16:55

I would like to know how a Canberra photographed Dagua.

Asturias56 1st Jul 2019 17:22

Looks rather Dutch to me ... but that's an ENORMOUS Apron with not much in the way of buildings behind it.... was it designed for some special occasion (s)

Self loading bear 1st Jul 2019 17:39

Looks typical American to me.
In Holland we do not waist so much space

dook 1st Jul 2019 17:42

I agree with America and I don't see tyre marks on the runway.

General aviation I would say.

JENKINS 1st Jul 2019 17:44

A vast amount was wasted there, SLB, the space was needed, and Dook, dear boy, did I mention an aeroplane? Yes to GA.

JENKINS 1st Jul 2019 17:50

Certainly not Dutch. A long look at the non-existent British registration may put you on the right 'track.'

Asturias56 1st Jul 2019 18:13

"track" - "wasted money"

Sounds like my dear Grandfather who took a great interest (and spent the family fortune) on sick horses..................

Is this near a race track?

JENKINS 1st Jul 2019 18:17

Nice idea but no to racetrack. Wrong sort of 'track' for this theme.

dook 1st Jul 2019 18:33

Was that large space required for military bombers or a very unusual craft ?

The runway cropped at bottom left seems very long.

Do I also see differential GPS equipment ?

JENKINS 1st Jul 2019 19:19

Differential GPS? No idea, I regret. Bombers in that space, yes, and I am sure lots of other machines. Indeed, a veritable host, and when at the peak constantly changing.

dook 1st Jul 2019 19:29

Thank you.

Would those bombers be B52s ?
