Thank you.
Your concrete battleship clue narrowed the search area considerably, and provided a fascinating piece of history as a diversion.
It wasn't too hard to then find an ASW base nearby.
Nothing handy at the moment so Open House

I'm just over 70 and due to the fact that the TV companies seem to transmit the best programmes between midnight and about 4 am I hardly ever get to bed.
Photo taken at Blackbushe?

Do you not have Catchup or digital recording kit ?

We watch late-night stuff the following day when there's a lot of rubbish on TV.

We are not at Blackbushe or in Indochina.

Shackman 6th Feb 2019 13:28

If not Indochina/Tan Son Nhut then it must be Tunisia - La Karouba Air Base.

dook 6th Feb 2019 14:38

Sorry - not Tunisia.

India Four Two 6th Feb 2019 15:08

How about Djibouti?

dook 6th Feb 2019 15:29

I had to look that up.

Are we still in the Pacific...?

dook 6th Feb 2019 17:00

No. We're in the Arabian Sea.

kaikohe76 6th Feb 2019 17:44

As a rather long shot, what about Socotra to the East of Yemen, possibly on the edges of the Arabian Sea, but still French as I understand. Not that much if any history of the airfield, seems to be available either.

dook 6th Feb 2019 18:19

It's not there either but so far you are closest.

I think most of you are being seduced by a French aeroplane.

This was once an RAF airfield.

May we stick to finding the challenge please instead of making inflammatory comments.
