Is it Pawhuska ?

JENKINS 5th Jan 2019 09:23

Pawhuska has rockets and crop sprayers? And a reservation, but too late I see. Spent too long over my skipper.

Don't forget Ree Drummond ('The Pioneer Woman' on Freeview 41) and her nosh.

Dook has it - it is Pawhuska in Osage County Oklahoma - a sleepy spot - most of the time

I wonder if Mrs. Drummond is aware of the kipper?

dook 5th Jan 2019 11:29

No crop sprayers here.

If she ever tried one, she'd probably put tabasco sauce and chili powder on it and top it with double cream and maybe a bit of mustard.

Military - looks like NW Europe - Netherlands??

dook 5th Jan 2019 12:15

It was military but is now civilian.

Not the Netherlands.

jensdad 5th Jan 2019 13:50

A very happy New Year to all!!
I'm going to have a characteristically wild stab in the dark... I'm not even sure if it's civil or mil these days, but is it Geilenkirchen?

dook 5th Jan 2019 13:53

And a Happy new Year to you.

It's not in Germany.

Asturias56 5th Jan 2019 14:26

dead straight without turn-offs - ex Warsaw pact??

dook 5th Jan 2019 14:41

Yes indeed ex Warsaw Pact or more accurately Russia, but I see five turn offs.

Asturias56 5th Jan 2019 15:29

Sorry - I meant the turn on/offs are almost right angles - I first noticed it at Kursk a few years back where the military silos/hangars have a great hi-speed set of taxiways - but when they reach the runway they have to almost stop and turn 90 degrees to line up.............

It looks like it could be south of Tula/ Ryazan and N of Rostov - but that's a hell of a large bit of countryside - about the size of W Europe

dook 5th Jan 2019 16:07

We are not in Russia either.

Well bless me old bowl of borscht.

That's Havryshivka (UKWW) if I'm not mistaken.

dook 5th Jan 2019 17:01

Your old bowl of borscht works well - I must make some.

More usually known as Vinnytsia, but Havryshivka it is.

Over to you.

Interesting place. There used to be a complete mock up of an American township near by that the KGB used to train infiltrators going to USA as "Illegals". But that's another story.

Right, be gentle as I haven't done this before...
