kenparry 4th Jan 2019 13:47

dook: your "not a challenge" - an interesting collection of types. Can you tell us where, when, and why?

Asturias56 4th Jan 2019 13:49

Not that heavily used by the lack of rubber on the runway - looks like a river bottom - - dozen or so private hangars, no tower, so not too close to a major city

dook 4th Jan 2019 14:07

Asturias

A county airport and the runway was only completed in September last year.

Let me guess - your’s was the shiny one! ;)

dook 4th Jan 2019 14:14

Sneaky, very sneaky!!!! just off Lake Huron, no????

.... an inspired Google search picked it up based on the September opening date clue.................... and the words County Airport

looks like you can taxi from the seaplane base on the lake up to the new tarmac

dook 4th Jan 2019 14:48

I never give bum clues- no point.

Grand Marais/Cook County it is.

Asturias56 4th Jan 2019 14:55

Anyway - this is a quiet spot ................. most of the time..............

dook 4th Jan 2019 15:03

I'm wondering what causes it not to be quiet at other times.
Lots of gliding activity maybe.

The cars and pickups look American.

Asturias56 4th Jan 2019 15:11

Yes we're in N America - as for noise sometimes you get these - and occasionally something even noisier - off out for a glass or two....

dook 4th Jan 2019 15:31

A glass or two of crop spraying chemicals I assume.

Asturias56 4th Jan 2019 17:06

Well getting any sort of a drink (legally) used to be a bit of a challenge around here at one time............... somewhat more enlightened these days I believe......

dook 4th Jan 2019 17:47

Possibly Alabama.

broadreach 4th Jan 2019 21:20
