Hmmm, some good guesses, some not so good. It isn’t Luqa, I’ve saved that one for another time.

Perhaps the RAF’s ubiquitous overseas sqn required the increased height doors?

This is just guessing comrades!!!

Let us think.... Comrade Cows said he/she took this picture "from my travels last week"

On the 19th December he/she posted a picture of Aktion in Greece with the words :-

"I am currently waiting on my plane home in ATH. I visited a ship in a harbour 3,5 hours away by taxi.
i would have prefered to travel via this Airport but it has rather limited connections. My flight leaves at 17:25 So you have 1 hour.
Or 4 and a half hour before I can respond.
"

so, somewhere between Athens & Aktion and closer to Aktion - it could be Agrinio or thereabouts?

Probably a load of meatballs but.....................

just seen his post - sounds like Cyprus to me................... Akrotiri??

Asturia,

it was me travelling from Athene to home.
Cows had the answer!
Cows has been posting a photo of his (one of many?) previous travel of UAE Fareiyah in November.
That makes me think this is Middle East as well.
But we then have to find trees in the Middle East.
That might be easier than airports.

What an idiot!!!!!

Dr Watson rather than Sherlock Holmes................ :uhoh::uhoh::uhoh:

dook 22nd Dec 2018 17:39

There is no way that is Akrotiri.

Why? (just asking :) )

dook 22nd Dec 2018 19:36

Because it's not there.

Anyway, why the Arabic ?

From another angle. One of these fine beasts is my usual steed.

dook 22nd Dec 2018 19:49

Do they have triggers ? :E

JENKINS 22nd Dec 2018 20:23

I had worked out the steed long ago! Another had been one of mine.

Great
now there are Palm trees added to the mix!

sycamore 22nd Dec 2018 21:01

Sun elevation is about 40-45*,so it might be along Lat of 25-+5,...?????

kaikohe76 23rd Dec 2018 00:37

Could it possibly be Dhahran, if so, there would likely be more visible security.

dook 23rd Dec 2018 08:37

I've been to Dhahran and it's not that green.

I am beginning to think Egypt but I can't find an airfield like that.

Asturias56 23rd Dec 2018 09:01

Lots of business jets by the look of it - also clear blue skies so probably not India or Egypt

The figure in red looks as if they have an Affro hair style whereas the other one looks as if it could be a Salwar Kamiz or similar

One time that would be useful but these days..............................

kaikohe76 23rd Dec 2018 17:40

On second thoughts, with the amount of greenery about, any reason why it would not be further south into Africa, Nairobi `JK` International on the GA side possibly. Looked also at Wilson field off to the west, might be a bit small.

Flap40 23rd Dec 2018 22:45

That looks like a Flight Calibration DA62 and a google tells me that they have two based in the UAE. There is a hangar south of the 12 threshold at Sharjah that might fit the bill.

OH if correct.

Looks to me that it is the off-Season vacation address of Rudolph the red nose reindeer.

Cheers SLB

Asturias56 24th Dec 2018 11:08

Flap40 looks pretty good but I can't see the security fence on GEarth.................... there are a few trees around the hangar tho'......

I wonder if it's Fujeirah??

sycamore 24th Dec 2018 11:13

GE stuff is well out of date....if you look at BZNtn,it still has VC10s,and Lyneham has Hercs...!
