We might be in Ukraine again. I can't see one. |
The river does - but not Ukraine - we're in NATO here
The spots are just bushes - I checked the pics again some seem to have grown up since the place was abandoned - see pic of it in it's heyday (sic) - I think that was bowser on the south side of the runway...... By near the river I mean within about 30 kms I'm off to do some Christmas shopping say 15:00 Zulu https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....5a9080f0a7.jpg |
We're in Bulgaria. Toshevtsi to be more precise.
|
we are indeed - a rather rural spot TBH - nothing ever seems to have ever happened there..................

BAe Warton..?
|
Arabic language country, looking at the fire extinguisher sign
but not a clue further. SLB |
Even with the Arabic writing on the fire equipment, the gate 1 sign is in English. The set up still looks UK to me, if not Warton as Sycamore has suggested, how about RAE Bedford as was?
|
I was a contract pilot with BAe and at Warton some signs were in Arabic because of the number of middle east personnel who regularly visited.
edit: I don't think it's Warton though. |
Neither do I. :) |
In fact I don't think we are in the UK.
|
Is this an ex-mil a/fld in UK....?
Does it hold a stash of ex-Russian aircraft....? Is the fence electrified...? |
T2 hangar with taller than normal doors installed for something with a tall fin.
|
I'm wondering if it is connected to rendition flights.
|
There might be a black `balloon` in there...
|
I fear that the hangar might indicate Royal Navy connections, but will still take a punt on Luqa.
|
The suggestion of BAe hangar is interesting. BAe Systems is also based in Saudi and Oman. But has several other contracts in the Middle-East as well. The hangar looks brand new. Did you check if it already shows on Google Maps/earth? SLB |
Look left of the hangar - green trees.
Jenkins suggested Luqa but zooming on GE there's nothing like that which I can see. |
I agree, just guessing.
|
The T2 is 'transportable' and can be moved from site to site; several T2s at Brawdy have disappeared recently.
