Carefully blotted out the number plate eh Bear?

I'd have said that all those electric wires made it NOTt UK but the multicolored sign on the fence reminds me of sites I've seen in the UK and that looks like a UK pedestrian road crossing back left - and maybe a Celtic Cross on the memorial on the left hand side? Difficult to tell but those vehicles look right hand drive as well - doesn't look like Japan or Indonesia..... so I'd guess UK

"Not a hornet" but maybe a Mosquito???? that would make it Hatfield ???

dook 13th Dec 2018 18:49

But no yellow lines with vehicles parked on pavement.

Could be Australia but I am seduced by UK except for the poles.

It's a Google street view image and all number plates are blurred.

I think the Celtic cross is more significant and i'm sure that i've seen power lines like that in Eire. Now why would you have a tower that looks across a public road?

A hunch and a quick google leads me to believe it might be Foynes.

OH if correct.

dook 13th Dec 2018 19:04

Yep - the flying boat museum.

It's been up before on another competition site to which I subscribe.

During WW 2

dook 13th Dec 2018 19:43

You've nicked that from my future challenges portfolio !

grizzled 13th Dec 2018 19:48

Which we both may have nicked from the same source -- or not... :)

If noboby else gets involved in the next hour, tell me where it is and you'll be up (so start getting another challenge ready...)

dook 13th Dec 2018 19:50

Issa on Farcebook you Tof. :)

grizzled 13th Dec 2018 20:14

Oh, that's funny. I didn't know that (I dont use FB) and I got it from a local archives site (which tells you the area of the globe I'm living in).

Tell me (and the rest of the huge global audience) where it is and take it away...

Flap is correct
Foynes
Also a stopover in Night flight of Ken Follet
in the Limerick county

But solved by other leads

Open House is already filled by Grizzled
with Dook out of competition?

Cheers SLB

grizzled 13th Dec 2018 20:19

SLB... That's a good question. I'm not sure of the official pprune rules but I assumed that dook was voluntarily taking himself out of the competition by saying he had the same photo ready to use at some point. But I'm happy to simply hand control to dook if he wants to take control (after providing the aerodrome name).

dook 13th Dec 2018 20:25

I thought someone else would want a shot.

Tofino.

JENKINS 13th Dec 2018 20:27

I will try. Momote?

dook 13th Dec 2018 20:29

I've answered it ^^^^^

grizzled 13th Dec 2018 20:36

Sorry Jenkins -- you were just two minutes too late -- re dook's offer to let someone else take a shot.
Indeed it has a similarity to Momote, and is on the correct ocean, but Momote and Tofino (the correct answer) are about as far apart as two places on the same ocean can be.
So yes, RCAF Station Tofino, circa 1943. Take it away dook. And get ready to play again, Jenkins... :)

dook 13th Dec 2018 20:42

BTW grizzled - I don't use Facebook either but my wife does.

I did say

Issa on Farcebook you Tof
but nobody seemed to notice.

I have seen this one lately during searching or it already featured as challenge?
Deep thinking, my mind wanders off....,,

nvubu 13th Dec 2018 21:26

I think we've had this one in the last couple of months.

dook 13th Dec 2018 21:28

I really don't think it's been up before.

Asturias56 14th Dec 2018 07:39

If that is a badminton court we're looking at UK, Denmark, Indonesia, Malaysia, China

If it's volleyball it could be just about anywhere.........................
