Good afternoon lauriebe.
Suspect mail delivery aeroplane, a Fox Moth. That looks like the name Mathui on the front. Christchurch ? |

Christchurch ? Not Christchurch. Here's a more modern image of the approach. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....9ccdf925ee.jpg |
It appears that Mathui, as I edited above, crashed near Cattle Flat.
Westport ? |
Not sure of the full name of the aircraft. It could be Mathui but the challenge is not Westport.
|
Google "new zealand dh fox moth"..
Your photo, uncropped, reveals ZK-AGM awaiting passengers and mail at Greymouth. The photo is about halfway down in my browser. |
Greymouth it is.
Your thread. |
Thank you and thanks to India Four Two for the heads up.
Standby please..... |
|
Is this in the UK?
|
Or perhaps Eastern Europe?
|
Nein mein freund.
|
I think this photo is quite some years post war? The way the power cables are strung across a (former?) taxi way. I thought that the Germans did not have a romney equivalent? |
Nice to see someone playing.
The airfield closed towards the end of 1946 and the photograph was taken in 1948. Some more clues in a few minutes. |
Holzkirchen - 1948 - you replied with the year before I submitted this.
|
I was about say BMW land and aircraft smelting.
Excellent shooting nvubu. :D Holzkirchen it is. Please hit the trigger. For what we are about to receive...….. |
Thanks dook …. I think we were looking at the same webpage :)
And where might this mystery aerodrome be? https://j1trca.bn.files.1drv.com/y4m...&cropmode=none |
A Scottish sky, don't know about the wheelbarrow?
|
More likely Germany or Italy methinks.
|
Not in Scotland or Germany
|
You didn't say about Italy.
|
Correct - I didn't, that should tell you something :ok:
|
Also, we are by the seaside - under the bombs.

I'm suffering brain failure here.
Does that mean that it is Italy and you didn't mention it or it's not Italy. Good job I don't sleep with a nuke-armed jet anymore. |
Yes …. it is in Italy.
|
A part of the Foggia conglomeration maybe.
|
Nope...…………..
|
More in the Campomarino area.
|
|
I'm shortly climbing to two feet and levelling off.
Eesa Seecily ? |
Not there either.
|
Over to the night shift.
Sleep well. |
Genoa....?
|
It isn't in Genoa either.
More pictures in the morning |
|
Cagliari? tho I'm not sure
|
Perhaps it's San Andrea, Venice, in 1927
|
Asturias56 has it with Cagliari/Elmas
Few more images https://of6dbq.bn.files.1drv.com/y4m...&cropmode=none This building still exists. https://anu1ka.bn.files.1drv.com/y4m...&cropmode=none https://lqkxnq.bn.files.1drv.com/y4m...&cropmode=none https://lqkwnq.bn.files.1drv.com/y4m...&cropmode=none |
Wow! that really was a toughie - I thought it might be Venice but Cagliari looked like the only one that was a) near the coast b) possibly extended - but I couldn't find any old images to cross-check.. Flown in there a few times
Let's try this one................... https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....4803842598.jpg |
Buongiorno Asturias.
