You're looking SW and there's an estuary between you and the hills...and a fruity NDB down there somewhere over the Spit's nose

BTW, not Compton Abbas or Dunsfold

If I can get this pic on, it's the same aerodrome, different bird, and fairly easy...

Forgive for the digression but I found a photograph of a number of C-47 belonging to the USAAF 440th Troop Carrier Group ranged on Exeter Airfield on the 5th June 1944 on the same part of the airfield that old,not bold's photograph was taken.
