Russell,

It's not that easy - I need a clue - East or West of Greenwich?

Russell Gulch 4th Feb 2008 18:21

I suppose if one were to travel far enough, everywhere is east of Grenwich. And west of it.

But by modern criteria, this location is east !

Russ.

Russel`s challenge

I think we`re in Norway, Sandane (ENSD/SDN) to be more precise.

If correct, open house, Ladies and Gentlemen.

Cheers,

Russell Gulch 4th Feb 2008 20:40

I told you it wouldn't last long.

Well done ATMspecialist

Russ.

Ok, open house, thanks guys. Taken from what airfield, or what remains of it -

Looks UK to me. V v v long shot, Kirmington?

Flap40 4th Feb 2008 22:20

Looks a bit like Exeter to me.

Flap40 4th Feb 2008 22:50

Looking at it again I would agree that it is Scottish and I think it has featured twice already.

Threshold of 03 at Prestwick?

Edit 'cus I've just read what LFT wrote...

.... Taken from Ayr!

LFT 5th Feb 2008 06:18

Flap40 is correct, 2 for the price of one, PIK's 03 threshold and what's left of one of Ayr Heathfield's runway's directly in line between me and the DC-8 which incidentally was loading a "hot" cargo. :ok:

Flap40 5th Feb 2008 08:25

Thanks. Interested to know what you mean by "hot" though!

next one...

Dan Winterland 5th Feb 2008 10:35

Is it Sywell?

Flap40 5th Feb 2008 13:22

It's not Sywell.

Flap40 6th Feb 2008 08:24

An extra pic for you

The block of trees at top left can still be found on Google earth etc although the roundabout is now a T junction.

Upyer RRR 6th Feb 2008 09:30

How about the original Wolverhampton airport at Pendeford?

chevvron 6th Feb 2008 11:43

Halfpenny Green and Pendeford are totally different, Pendeford was near Wolverhampton Race Course.

Upyer RRR 6th Feb 2008 12:21

I have been visiting Halfpenny Green for over 35 years, but do not recall the terminal building shown in the first photograph. Can someone jog the memory of an old man?

Flap40 6th Feb 2008 13:27

It is Pendeford. The position of the roundabout is at 52 37' 46.2"N 2 9' 4.1"W

A couple of hundred metres to the west is a road called Balliol road.

Upyer RRR 6th Feb 2008 13:52

Does that mean I have to post the next one?

Russell Gulch 6th Feb 2008 14:10

Indeed it does !

chevvron 6th Feb 2008 14:18

Balliol Road because of course it was Boulton and Paul's airfield.
