forget, consider yourself lucky, because I wasn't entirely sure this time. :)

Over to pigboat now. The following pic was his suggestion:

Early model of the Beechcraft 17 Staggerwing or either the WACO UIC or UKC-S?

cringe 12th Dec 2005 16:29

Mel, it's neither a Beechcraft nor a Waco, but it is American.

Sorry for the delay, I thought pigboat would be around to score this round.

pigboat 12th Dec 2005 17:23

Oops!! Sorry cringe. I didn't see the pic last evening, and I just logged on. :O

Neither Beech nor Waco nor bi-plane.

Wunper 12th Dec 2005 17:59

Noorduyn Norseman

pigboat 12th Dec 2005 22:24

Nope, sorry not the Thunderchicken.

Pigboat

'Neither Beech nor Waco nor bi-plane.'

Possibly high wing. How about a variant of the Ryan B class aircraft?

There again it could be an early Cessna 190/195.

pigboat 13th Dec 2005 17:13

Not a Cessna 195 or Ryan, although it does have a radial engine. American manufactured, but a 'foreign sounding' name. :E

forget 13th Dec 2005 17:37

Ah, that simplifies matters. Let's see...........

Atlantic Fokker Corporation
Noorduyn Aviation, Ltd.
Caspar-Werke
Eberhart Aeroplane & Motor Company
Gallaudet Aircraft Corporation
Berliner-Joyce Aircraft Corporation
Junkers-Larsen Aircraft Corporation
Kaiser Cargo, Inc.
Grover Loening, Inc.
Loening Aeronautical Engineering Corp.
Schweizer Aircraft Corporation
Cox-Klemin Aircraft Corporation

a 'foreign sounding' name
Just a guess, since I cannot find a cockpit photo.

How about the "Big Bellanca", the P-100 Airbus? That's a very foreign sounding name :O

pigboat 13th Dec 2005 20:26

Forget, you forgot Bellanca. :E

I42, not the Airbus but the Skyrocket, one of which - CF-DCH - I've flown in as a kid. You're up.

India Four Two 13th Dec 2005 21:06

Nothing suitably difficult to post - a Chipmunk wouldn't last ten minutes :)

So someone else post one.

Pigboat, have you got a picture of DCH?

JDK 13th Dec 2005 23:14

Here's one to hand.

It shouldn't last long!

barit1 14th Dec 2005 00:02

Ryan PT-22 (Company model ST-3KR) - but with manifold pressure gage, there's more HP up front than the Kinner 5-banger.

JDK 14th Dec 2005 00:43

You are close, but you might like to take a bit of Dutch courage to go the last leg...

Happy to handover to the next go though!

pigboat 14th Dec 2005 01:46

I42 I don't have a pic of DCH. I think it's in the WCAM in Winnipeg. Here's one of EQQ in Pacific Western logo.

cringe 14th Dec 2005 21:43

Is the last cockpit pic of a Ryan STM ?

JDK 15th Dec 2005 10:59

Cringe,

Ryan STM in Brisbane's Archerfield Airport, ex Dutch NEI like most of the Aussie ones.

Over to you or Barit1!

cringe 15th Dec 2005 13:30

Over to barit1.

cringe 15th Dec 2005 18:31

Hmm, barit1 seems to be away. To keep the ball rolling, here's another pic from pigboat's selection:
