Can anyone identify this cockpit ?
I think it's a twin.

Clint.

It's the new 1930's retro fit for the A320.. :)

treadigraph 28th Sep 2005 16:13

With all that glazing might be an IL-12 or 14? Top me head...

Tiger_mate 28th Sep 2005 20:32

Modern IFR suite including a GPS in the centre. WWII appearance otherwise, and twin throttles would suggest DC3 type aeroplane. Very curved superstructure around the glazing, and gut feeling that its a taildragger. Lower glazing unusual.
My guess is that it is a:

C46 Commando.

PS

Now I am sure it is!:ok:

treadigraph 28th Sep 2005 21:57

Ooh, good spot TM! This could be a good new competition!

Tiger_mate 29th Sep 2005 06:22

You can cheat if you give up with right click and "properties", but that just wouldnt be british now would it?

AL1 New pic, same cab, no clues

treadigraph 29th Sep 2005 06:27

Without cheating I was going to suggest a Catalina... but now I'm angling towards Mosquito?

Fris B. Fairing 29th Sep 2005 06:38

Anson?

Fifteen more characters.

CoodaShooda 29th Sep 2005 07:10

The glazed nose and wooden trim certainly suggests Mosquito

Mr_Grubby 29th Sep 2005 07:27

Tiger mate.

Re: C46
Thanks very much. You won me a pint !!

Clint.

Feather #3 29th Sep 2005 08:27

My shot at #2 is Bolingbroke [Blenhiem IV].

G'day ;)

Gainesy 29th Sep 2005 08:59

Tiger Mate, bit tricky as the pic won't load so can you give me a vowel? :)

Fris B. Fairing 29th Sep 2005 09:05

Can I change my answer?

It's obviously a Nocheating.

Tiger_mate 29th Sep 2005 11:19

Taken through the entrance door of a Mosquito at the Mosquito Air Museum, I reckon that its over to: treadigraph for the next one.

Well done CoodaShooda, but treaders got there first. I can see this thread getting >very< difficult very soon.

BEagle 29th Sep 2005 11:38

Here's one while you're waiting:

treadigraph 29th Sep 2005 12:54

Oh, good guess...

Bu@@er, can't see BEagle's (is it a Pup or a Basset - or a Vulcan!) - I'll be able to when I get home.

In the meantime I'll suss out a pic that's somewhere in my archive.

Bert Stiles 29th Sep 2005 13:46

P-38 J model ????

BS

Tim Inder 29th Sep 2005 13:57

Hmmm, don't think it's a P-38 (first oneI thought of too) 'cos the control column comes out otf the floor in those...

Vulcan - nope - joystick instead of a yoke

Grumman f7f Tigercat?

Jhieminga 29th Sep 2005 13:59

The Mosquito wasn't too hard, I've taken that exact same photograph recently. No clue about BEagle's photo though. It suggests something military and not too old, but I truly don't know.

forget 29th Sep 2005 14:55

Wrong fuselage colour for Tigercat, which would be dark blue US Navy.
