OK, time for a real aircraft: mark of type essential to good recognition ;) :ok:

TM, are you really sure that you want to fly in one of those noisy, cramped, underpowered bits of timber and balsa :p Unless you're under 5' 6" tall, of course ;)

Onan the Clumsy 10th Oct 2005 00:01

Referee! :{

Japanese flying bomb - the final version
That should have counted for something. I only ask because I have bugger all chance of getting any of the others :(

here's one for you while were in standby mode...

Aaaaaargh! no longer in SBY mode. Cleared for the parallel puzzle then...

RJM 10th Oct 2005 02:49

Onan that was my Jap flying bomb pic. You were right, but you offered two answers!

forget 10th Oct 2005 08:20

Very good, and it's the rear (pilot's) seat ;)

Your turn :ok:

Have we met??? No really, designer helicopter crew here and I can almost stand up straight inside a Puma.

As for the Vampire, cramped noisy and wooden it may be, but I would still treasure half an hour in one.

forget 10th Oct 2005 10:58

Bell Super Cobra. Ten years with an Oriental Bell distributor may have helped. Here you go -

From across the pond - I've never been in a Trident, but that must be it!

forget 10th Oct 2005 12:49

Not a Trident. Trident below -

Yak - 40

Clint.

cringe 10th Oct 2005 13:06

Yak-42

RJM 10th Oct 2005 13:18

Too modern for a Yak-42?

forget 10th Oct 2005 13:53

Spot on Cringe - Yak-42D. Your go.

jimgriff 10th Oct 2005 14:32

That would be a Buccaneer then!!:8

Tim Inder 10th Oct 2005 15:33

Eh?

Which one you mean? not Onan's surely?

Tarnished 10th Oct 2005 17:09

With a gap in the proceedings how about this one?

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...ric/893441.jpg

Tarnished

Its a bit small ( oo err missus) sorry

Edited to say: its much bigger now!!!

forget 10th Oct 2005 17:30

Miniature DC-8, or a Lockheed Jetstar. OK, I used my initiative, and Google. The photographers name is there for all to see.;)

Tarnished 10th Oct 2005 18:13

Nope, but right number of engines.

Mr_Grubby 10th Oct 2005 18:47

Elvis Presley Jetstar ?

Clint.

Tarnished 10th Oct 2005 19:13

Correct!

Spotted it on the Legacy Hall photo montage at work, thought it might take a bit longer, bit of a forgotten icon, the 4 engine biz jet.

Tarnished

forget 10th Oct 2005 19:23

The Royal Air Force still operates 4 engined biz-jets. Is it my go?

Tiger_mate 10th Oct 2005 19:31

Canadair CL-44

Conroy conversion? Either way a freighter.

With very "70s" seats.

forget 10th Oct 2005 19:37

Spot on! Over to you. ( Shouldn't Ibe doing something useful?)

Tiger_mate 10th Oct 2005 20:01

A view that I have seen once or twice although I dont think that I actually took this photo.

Hawk T 1W good picture to play "spot the leader" with!!

Tarnished

jumpseater 10th Oct 2005 20:15

North Wales heading towards Snowdon and its a Hawk

Tarnished\'s one is a lightning I think

Tarnished 10th Oct 2005 20:28

Tis indeed a Frightning, but is it a Mk3 or a Mk6?

The Rad Alt makes it a 6 (I don't think the Mk 3 had this late addition)

Looks quite spacious with the seat removed.

Did you spot the other Hawk in Tiger_Mate's piccy?

T

cringe 10th Oct 2005 20:45

For a quick intermezzo (my turn from earlier today):

forget 10th Oct 2005 20:58

Beech King Air 100 - on second thoughts, no.

jumpseater 10th Oct 2005 21:11

Yep I clocked the leader!, Dunno what mark, I only recognised the speed tape!

Heres mine
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...ater/panel.jpg

treadigraph 10th Oct 2005 21:31

My God, and I only went to the pub, er, quite some time ago and see how far we've progressed. You'll be teliing me we've abandoned wing-warping, and where's the bit of string gone...?

Jumpseater, I haven't got a clue, but there's an interesting button down on the left hand side that seems to mention things like LOFT, LABS, and apparently "Push to jettison"? WTF, or as the trendy Irish say FCEK?

Tarnished, yes I did spot the other Hawk, but only since you mentioned it!

forget 10th Oct 2005 21:34

Jumpseater, Could be wrong but think you're supposed to recognise the next one up before you paste your A-10. Stand to be corrected.

jumpseater 10th Oct 2005 22:00

forget, I thought I'd 'got one in credit' so to speak with tarnished's lightning!

And I haven't pasted an A-10 :p , its much faster than that!

Tarnished 10th Oct 2005 22:11

Think Jumpseater's is an F-4 of some flavour, only based on the AI ball which I remember seeing as an impressionable Cadet Pilot on summer camp in the Wattisham sim. The AI ball was in the sim, the summer camp was on the base as a whole... I knew what I meant...

As for Cringe, no idea except to say I wouldn't fly it there are too many possible warning captions up on the coaming!!

Tarnished

jumpseater 10th Oct 2005 22:17

Tarnished is correct, but front or back?

Tarnished 11th Oct 2005 00:01

Back of a twin sticker ??

jumpseater 11th Oct 2005 00:53

Yup, that'll be the one!

RJM 11th Oct 2005 06:32

In the interests of tying off loose ends and getting another pic going...

Does Tarnished's response mean that Jumpseater's pic (which has turned into a red X on my machine) was of the back seat of an F-4?

Also, we never did find out what Onan's inflight panel shot was. Maybe two parallel series (to coin a phrase) is a bit confusing.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to Tarnished's pic.

henry crun 11th Oct 2005 07:01
