I know I am a bit out of my depth with you guys !!
But is it a Chipmonk ? Simon. |
Not a Chipmunk...
|
treadigraph.
Could it be the AN-225 :D Well I only asked, not very good on Cockpits :{ Peter. |
Keep guessing - if no luck soon I'll give you some hints, but it is quite tricky. Lomcevak might get it as he may have flown the beast in question...
|
Beags,
Yes A6-8. As Homes might say, "Your reasoning was excellent, Watson, but flawed." :P Lovely aeroplane, lovely restoration under the kindly hands of Mothcair in Murwillumbah, NSW. It'll be a stunner to see in the air. Treadders - is it a Percival? |
Nah - OK Hint. It's a reproduction (but not a replica )...
JDK, I need to PM you about a certain Warlike Planet... Will do so when I've slept off my convivial intake. Hic! |
Hmmm.
I'm wracking the old brainbox. It's not foren, cos there's an English plackard. Probably one engine, not military, 1930s - maybe 20s.. Def piston engined, retractable undercarriage, not a Percival. Oh, and it's 10 past 1 am, cos it's dark outside... Not many British aircraft in the thirties with a low or mid wing with wheels that go up n' dahn. It's not the US built DH-88 Comet replica is it? Looks different to the 'real' G-ACSS if 'tis. Sure, drop me a PM Treadders. Not a Caudron repro? (But the english plackard...) Windcreen\'s wrong for a Comet. Miles? |
OK hints:
It's American and has a radial engine. Sorry been out all day and about to hurtle off again. |
Grumman F3F in its two-seat G32A version, perchance?
http://www.clubhyper.com/reference/images/f3fsb_16.jpg shows a similar cockpit view. See http://www.airsceneuk.org.uk/airshow01/legends/f3f.htm for an external view of the F3F2 single seater or http://www.plane-crazy.net/links/g32.htm for both types together. |
Well done BEagle, you have control!
Chino Warbird's N100TF when it and one of the single-seaters was in the UK for Flying Legends show several years ago. Lovely little aeroplanes! Cheers Treadders |
Always thought the Grumman flying barrels looked nice!
OK, try: http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a341/nw969/jjjj.jpg |
That has to be a TSR 2?
|
Well done - hole in one! You have the helm.
|
Good one Treadders - great photo too. I presume you erased the callsign plackard?
Ooh. Fast as a TSR-2 too. More please. |
I did, and a reflection out of the windscreen as well - then noticed another one. I should credit the pic to Barry McKee!
|
Woohoo!!!
It was the colour and the position of the Manual Overide handle on the bang seat (Mk8) that gave it away..... Now then...where did I put my cockpit picis?:E |
Anybody else want to have a go?
twas good while it lasted. |
Ok an easy one for you all, so easy in fact that you have to get not only manufacturer and model, but also the year (hint: not 2005 :} )
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y27...sy/cockpit.jpg She's a grand old girl too :ok: |
Cessna 170 - 1950???
|
"Ok an easy one for you all"
Has anybody else ever noticed that when somebody says that you know the impossible is inbound. Dont know the type, but I estimate the twentieth century:O |
Is the word 'Beechcraft' on the AH a clue?
|
No, yes and no.
Perhaps "easy" is the wrong word and I should have said "far from exotic" or perhaps fairly common airframe. btw, the AH was a rebuilt as the old one used to show a permanent 70 degrees of bank :} |
It may be easy for you but I can't even see it - thank you IT Services! By the time I shamble home from le Chien et He-Vache, no doubt it will have been solv-ed!
|
95 Kts, 6.700 AGL (check the second ALT!!), HDG 061, 2,400 RPM - I suppose you want to know where that Cessna 140 is also headed?
Woomera |
Well spotted and that explains why the mags are on :8
Look again...it couldn't possibly be a 140  ;) http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y27...sy/cockpit.jpg ...though you may well have the manufacturer correct :ok: |
Cessna 180? 1960's vintage
|
Very very close.
It's a Cessna with a controllable prop and having two altimeters AND being ragged out is a big clue. Ok it's a straight tailed 1959 C-182 jumpers for the use of. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y27.../grover001.jpg |
|
Arado Ar 234 Blitz................the one at the NASM.
|
Trifecta! Make, model and the individual aircraft.
Arado 234 'Blitz' one-man jet bomber c1945. |
Now two out of three should be a doddle:
http://tinypic.com/ebeihy.jpg 1) Type 2) Registration 3) Name of FO............... (Sorry about the size, haven't figured that bit out yet) |
Vickers..................errrrm
|
The Vanguard at Brooklands? G-APE... Miss Gruntie? (Sorry, hat sounds a bit unfortunate, but you know what I mean!)
|
Vickers VC10
A40-AB Ebeihy? |
Gruntie re pic sizing - someone put me onto http://tinypic.com/
(I hope I can mention them here - tinypic is a free site) Anything oversize is automatically sized down to 250Kb, as long as the pic starts at a reasonable size - for example if I had a multi Mb image I would use Photoshop or Graphic Converter or whatever to resize it down a bit for a start, then let tinypic do any tidying up. I haven't a clue what the aircraft is btw, other than it is either a gateguard or was parked very close to those trees. :D |
Well done that man, 'tis indeed A40-AB, ex-G-ASIX of BUA. The FO I'll let you off!
|
|
Convair B 36 Peacemaker ??
|
Is it a Beriev 2500?
|
No to both - sorry!
