Given that in 1978 G-AWUW was in the ownership of peeps from RAF Swanton Morley and then Norfolk I would say........ I still haven't a clue really.... Great Yarmouth springs to mind with the Reds in the picture.

DH has it. The Arrows were displaying over Clacton Pier.
Handsfree, the source of your registration had not quite caught up.
UW was purchased from Norfolk and Norwich in 1978 by Red Fir Aviation having been painted red white and blue to celebrate Jubilee year 1977. Red Fir was the local reporting point on Red One.
The roofline of Butlins Holiday Camp can be seen in the photo.
6000 happy souls a week were incarcerated in there in any one week in the summer months.
Some managed to break out and come for a flight around the pier.
The camp was demolished some time ago and given way to a housing estate.
Over to you DH and Happy Christmas everybody

It's not Colombia (or South America), nor Stanley FI.
Clue time - The airfield was built by the USAAF, but the military soon moved elsewhere in this autonomous region of it's mother country.
