First time on today due to all sorts of problems at work and gotta go now to take up dog/house sitting duties for ten days!!

I didn't have any connection when I got home last evening, but the house I'm staying in should be OK. If it is, I'll be back online in less than two hours. It may be prudent to declare open house if it's correct, and I'll post if it all works OK and it's still open, but don't wait for me JIC!

No probs LM...the photo reproduction quality of the image from the internet is not good. I've got the same photo in a book and the tail outline is much clearer.

Welcome back skytrain and yes you are correct about it being the Stal-6, sorry about the tail, I accept responsability, as I did accept LM's without cross referencing against another view. Done in a hurry I'm afraid (my bit that is)!

I think that the original was heavily re-touched and some parts are not too distinct especially in that region.

Thanks Sinco. Often the problem with some of the old USSR machines, and by the time they've been scanned and put on to a web site what was a poor photo gets even worse! And the retouching just gets exagerated!
