Found a picture. Good call TC!

Edit to say, looked at it as a crop-sprayer, too . You are right, very difficult to see the original if you don't know.

Tried all versions of "upside-down" but somehow did not spot it when looking at "exhibition".

Would be interesting to know if this guy Murphy landed his head down, too. Must be relation to the other Murphy of aircraft industry....."If an aircraft can be landed upside down, it will be landed upside down" .

Sinco strikes again, well done mate . Yes it is the Murphy Over-and-Under from 1935, converted from a Taylor E2 Cub.

Sinco has declared Open House

At least SG-38. That would explain the closed support of upper struts.

Or even Slingsby Type 38 Grasshopper...

Edit: found a picture in Frightglobal: Slingsby TX1 Grasshopper

I've put my sunglasses on!

A project I assume? No visible power plant so maybe rocket powered, or perhaps a rear pusher prop?

So a glider then? Unless there is a hidden air intake somewhere?

Two jet engines. You'll be surprised when you see the air intakes.

Well as they are not on view, I'll guess either beneath the fuselage or maybe recessed in to the tailplane like the Gulfstream Peregrine?
No visible weapons stations so a trainer design? European?

European.

Aaaa. The New continent has awoken.

evansb spot on!

Petit Canard, the project of SUPAERO university in 1970s. 2003 to 2008 a subject to various student restoration and testing work. Never made it to fly. Since 2008, part of the displayed collection of Conservatoire de L'Air de l'Espace d'Aquitaine (CAEA), at Bordeaux-Mérignac airport.

The current "Institut Supérieur de l’Aéronautique et de l’Espace" (ISAE) was created in 2007 from the merger of the two prestigious French "Grandes Ecoles": SUPAERO (1909) and ENSICA (1945).

evansb has the thread!

Oh bugger! I've actually seen it and photographed it...but when I saw it was a project it never crossed my mind to look at something that had been built, albeit not flyable! Nice one Reg, and good call Bri
