And he said you'd gone!!

Good Challenge Ken! Although, having looked for info now that I know what to look for, the sum total makes it obvious why nobody had much luck searching on its characteristics!! Choosing a challenge with a name that now has so heavy a commercial overtone, is either very cunning or borderline evil

I think our Icelandic friend was heavily influenced by the Miller HM-4 Moonship!

Is it called a Global 3?
So close at the end. but LM was there first. Well done mate ...yes its the Kristjan Arnason Global 3 from Iceland, a country not exactly well known for its aircraft manufacturing industry!

LM has control.

Thanks Sinco. It was RR's recent challenges that set me on the hunt. Not a case of looking for an unusual aircraft, but an aircraft from a country that does not regularly crop up.....Iceland fell nicely into that category! The name was just a bonus!

I think our Icelandic friend was heavily influenced by the Miller HM-4 Moonship!
Think you're right there.....certainly an unusual design. First registered in 2008 incidentally,

Icelandic my foot! This guy has built two aircraft before this, the Icelandic text says...... And that it took four years to build this. Maiden flight in June 2008.

I have booked a studio in a Senior Home. I'll give up silhouette challenges. Too difficult for me .

Icelandic my foot!
Sorry RD, are you suggesting the aircraft is NOT Icelandic? According to everything I have found on this aircraft (which is not much), it is of Icelandic origin. Have to admit I could not find an online translator from Icelandic to English, so if I have missed something which suggests the aircraft was built elsewhere then I can only apologise.

Sorry Skytrain. Language barrier and total stumble flat on my face on my part. It's me who should apologize . I only meant to say 'Oh my!' in a bit stronger way. Picked wrong expression and tone.

I find the challenge just perfect and cannot understand how two guys were able to get there when there was so little available about it in the web. Just tried to give some insight about the builder and plane.

In summary: I am sorry and meant no offense!

RD, ok no problem. I was concerned that I had missed something in my weak efforts to translate!
I was not surprised once the 2 possible countries were identified. Both have online registers and the Icelandic one is not very big and if you just look through it there is only one aircraft that had the potential to be "home grown". That's how I found it anyway!

Stick with it RD...you've got some recently that I didn't have a clue about!

Let's see if LM has something, or perhaps we wait until tomorrow.

Good. Thanks . Translators work better from Icelandic to Swedish and Norwegian, which I can read....

Revving my engine for LM's challenge

I am here .

Confused, as designed, I believe .

A couple of thoughts/questions:

The gear looks designed for relatively good surfaces = cannot be very old... Pre or post 1930?

Is the picture from the original or a replica?

The tail looks funny with two extra fins down. Is that true (that it has two fins down)?

Good afternoon/tag.

American it was skytrain.

1930s Reg. It is not a replica.

The bit not silhouetted (your "tail") is a trestle!

edit to say sorry - I see what you mean!

Twin-tail.
