Silhouette challenge
OK Graeme, I don't like red either.
True story:
Some years ago at a cocktail party in Bournemouth with the Red Arrows.
Me wearing Martin Baker tie, standard dark blue jacket and grey trousers, and some guy wearing a red tie comes up and says "Hello, I'm Red Seven".
Me? "Hello, I'm fg Donald Duck.
Nite nite!

Reg,
It's not the Lommatzsch, but you re safely back on home ground.
There are a couple of good pictures on the web showing the wing shape very clearly, including this one and I'm surprised you haven't stumbled across it recently.

Not a Scheibe mate!
As it's getting quite late in Berlin, I'll throw in a little cryptic clue!
The manufacturer/co-designer sounds like a German aero-engine made of Tungsten (but shortened a little)
Edited to say it's not that second one you added either, BUT part of the latter, did have a connection with this ones maker, but not on this particular one! Clear as mud innit

Tungsten's Chemical name is Wolfram, which was the first name of this glider's co-designer Hirth, who built it under the shortened name Wolf Hirth.
Hirth also built gliders with Schempp.
And yes, in its Carbide form it's universally used as a very hard (but brittle) material for cutting tools and drills, often plated with Gold-coloured Titanium Nitride TiN, mistakenly called tin plating. Lesson over, Ill get me coat......

OK. Got it.
I have Gö-4 as built in 1937 (over 100 pieces) and then again 1951 - 1954 another 21.
The Wolf Hirth Gö 4 III D-1084 in Deutsche Luftfahrtmuseum is marked first flown 1944.....
Anyhow, interesting wild goose chase - Thanks Sinco.
Now turning in, so Open House.
Edit to say that my pic of the Gövier1 H looks pretty much the same as this Hirt Gö-4 II that hangs in a museum as Gö-4 g4
