Don't hesitate to ask for clues. This is not an obvious one. There is a picture in the net, type, and country. Have not found anything else. I know where there is a printed picture and probably more text, but have no idea how to get access to it. The journal has gone belly up, and the number where the text would be does not seem to be offered for downloading.

Other than that, how did you like the play, Mrs. Lincoln?

PS: No use to ask the type and the country directly, though .

PS2: Picture you can have......

Very busy and not had a chance to play today! Going home soon and will have a chance then (if I don't stop to eat)!!

PS: No use to ask the type and the country directly, though .

No. Thousands of miles off
How many thousands??

PS2: Picture you can have.....
If it's got a registration on it

Sorry, don't know, but 30s is a good guess. Not likely 40s and not later.

How many thousands??
More than six.

If it's got a registration on it
Did not need to remove it

Good Evening David

I'm off home now, will be back later to see if I can get a little more blood out of this partcular stone!! That's if the Wizard of Oz doesn't awaken to riffle through his Bly "Big Book of Biplanes"

At least we've now ruled out Mauritania (plus a few others, but I'll be damned if I'm going to publish them for some other bugger to use)!!

Catch you and Reg later!

Maybe we should send via cyberspace a virtual pack of Alka-Selzer to the Ozzie-Wizzie, given the circumstances on yesterday, when, i.a., Andy Murray won his match in the Australian Open and he (the O-W) gave the appropriate attention and appreciation to it.

He might crawl out of his bed at a later point in time, don't you think gentlemen? Should we count on him in this case of the mysterious-biplane-not-from-Mexico challenge?

I'm back; but not with any great expectations of finding this "little mysterious-biplane-not-from-Mexico challenge", with the current information!!

Am I wasting my time looking for it in the "Fright Archives"??

Greater than 6000 miles (statute or nautical?) and less than what?? As it still leaves two thirds of the globe and an awful lot of "not the usual suspect" aircraft building countries within a possible 20 year time span

OK. I share your agony. Count out Americas (already gone), Europe, Africa (never was in) and Russia.

Leave 1930s in (ok, granted, late 1920s may also be in, but here are no intentional covert claims).

And the distance is difficult to determine because Mexico and the county are both quite large. But the number was statute miles (the miles that the great circle distances are given in the Great Circle Mapper). The distance to the town whose name the aircraft carries is not more than nine thousand miles from Mexico (City).

Thanks for that (narrowing it down to a 3000 mile wide band)!! I was assuming statute miles and from Mexico City!

And my question about Flight Archive?

Edited to say, taking ten for supper, 'spect you'll be ZZzzz soon!

I wonder, is it from the W of Oz's homeland as that near the 9k limit?

Pretty much N from Ozzieland, and no mentioning in Fright Archives as far as I can figure out.

The late magazine was Russian (not the aircraft, as already stated).

I won't go before someone has solved the mystery, I'll tell you.

It is approaching 9:30 a.m. in NSW and there is a risk that the OW wakes up soon (although I never do that on Saturdays) and says: "It is nnnn, from mmmm, in oooo, from year pppp and it did this-and-that in the Long March".

Graeme, I see you! Come out!

It is indeed. Evening to you both!

No.

Until the compass, maps and dividers came out I was sure it was the Finnish Tuisku.

N from Ozzieland

G'day Graeme,

Thanks for doing your stuff with Murray

Now I can't get onto page 1025, perhaps this post will do it!

I'm looking in China now 'coz I saw some mention of Long March!

That did it pagewise, so now read Reg's post above and getting out of China!!

Indonesia or Korea maybe?
