I hope that you had a good trip Reg and the strike gave you a little more time to explore, like LM said, welcome back!

LM,

When I posted the SFAN II a recently, I thought saw a photo of it from a very similar angle to this, apart from the tail shape and maybe the cockpit canopy instead of a windshield it's a dead ringer!

It's not the SFAN II TC, but you have a point.

Explain please.
Just showing interest into the vital signs of the thread.

Were these called motor gliders (or Motorsegelflugzeug) already at the era of your challenge?

It's not actually the Planette, but a development of it called the Drone. It had three engine types, and this one has the Ford water-cooled engine.

So close you have to win.

Now what........

OK, fine. I went to see Sinco's reference to SFAN II and there the Drone was referenced as the predecessor. Thought the pic in Wiki showed a different tail There is an obstacle, which I see now, which prevents the tail from showing properly... So I thought it is not Drone this time, either. Then I saw that the pic of OO-BAC which was disputed to be a Drone but a Planette - so I thought I was shrewd enough to reveal your plot. Otherwise OK, but it backfired .

Yes, yes, LM, I will, I will,

Oh yes; now I remember where I saw it! DOH !! In too much of a hurry to get back to work after lunch, I should have stopped and had another look.

As I presume LM originally chose your latest Challenge, I am tempted to ask is it another American?
