Guten Tag Reg, good morning irishair2001 (I see your light is on)!
Off to work in a few minutes and likely to be hectic, dunno if I will be able to get back later, but will try!
Reg; I had a good trawl through Aerofiles when I got back last night (too late for any banter), but didn't find your challenge. However, this was on lookiing for refs to obvious features like struts, ailerons and tail. There are far too many bipes in there to find it without a something other than luck (of the Irish maybe) to come across it without something to weedle it out, possibly engine detail or an exact year. I'm making the assumption that unlike Graeme's challenge the other day, that the original image (probably flipped), or at least an image that shows the features mentioned above accompanies the Aerofiles entry!
irishair, it seems that you hadn't spotted Reg's answers to my earlier probing regarding country, year and struts! Good luck mate

Good morning!
But TC, those two features are specifically mentioned in Aerofiles !!!! Engine is mentioned, but only that the type is not known .
The year is circa post 1918.
And the picture has not been flipped, either

Gorrit Reg,
Just grabbing a hurried coffee and the engine detail did it for me, ta!
I had tried all the combinations of words re struts and tail, and they are in the description, but the search engine didn't pick them up, it isn't too good sometimes!!
1919 Brock
It'll have to be an Open House please as I'm going to be very busy today, besides which, I don't have any left now!! Good Challenge

I told you TC!
Well done!
Walter L. Brock's Brock
I was puzzled about Aerofiles search engine too, to the extent that I did some experiments and even went to the engine make's website for more. The problem with this specific search (and with many others) is that Aerofile engine is "fussy" as they say themselves - picky I would say. And the other problem is the English language (). The fact is that it does not find 'tailed' unless you spell it specifically correct. 'Tail' is not enough, not even if you use the Option 'Any word forms". No wildcard applies either, because with short words ambiguity is too big. Or, with the nerd language "Words shorter than 5 chars are not morpheme processed because the rules tend to break down and give wrong answers on the really short roots."

Walter L. Brock's Brock
c.1919 = 1pOB; unknown motor. Small, square-tailed plane looking somewhat like a WW1 SPAD, possibly was a modification or copy of one. No data located. NOTE: The photo was digitally enhanced from a tiny part of a larger picture, and front wings struts did not appear, but they could have easily been lost in the graininess—a hint of a front strut appears under the right top wing under its cut-out. It's hard to believe those wings would stay on without some leading-edge assist!
This appears to be a remodeled DeLloyd Thompson Looper. Brock built two Loopers in 1916 for the Stinsons in San Antonio after he remodeled their Wright B trainers with Dep controls.
