Good shooting Graeme.

The Ca-161 flown by Mario Pezzi, who achieved a world record of 55,920 feet, a record which still stands for a piston-engined aeroplane.

Take the floor.

How does it land?

Must be a glider, or a towed glide bomb.

Dunno.

Was the pilot also an astronaut?

Another though.

When you say
Heavily modified production glider
, was it pressurised?

Gemini-Apollo sort of thing?...nope.
Might have been involved with that Virgin rocket thingy, you know, weightless for a few minutes for $250,000...

Designed a lot of unique looking homebuilts...two were jets I think.
