I like to have my challenges solved before hitting the hay, so maybe this smoky image will help?

Sorry Martin, not a Bellanca. I don't seem to be able to access Aerofiles any more but if you can it was a Howell Miller design. Mark Granville was one of the test pilots.

You just landed at AeroFiles!

That would be the unique Aerovel -4 then? Built in 1939, 4 seater and fitted with 2 Menasco C-4S 125hp engines.

That's the one Mel. Other designations/names include HM-4 and "Moonship".

Your control mate.

This shouldn't pose any problems.

"Trying the old "hide the pusher" trick mate?!" Isn't that a pub game mate? Or something you play with your wife?

Hmmm...what sort of pubs do you have over there?

While you magnificently identified the Westland Dreadnought in record time I found this thinking I may be close..(I wasn't)...

Yes I was, I also tried to make it look like a swept wing jet - and failed

Is yours the new challenge then? I've seen it before but am struggling to place it. Germany perhaps?

It is the new challenge and it's not German. That's a 100 hp motor up front.

It's a powered cargo glider with a wingspan of 85 ft and the idea was to replace mules and carts particularly where there were no roads or railway lines. The concept was called "Planerlet" and there were a number of designs but they all had to be towed to altitude before the minute engine could take over. What country does that sound like..?
