I think it's the SGT (Super Guppy Turbine) with Allison engines)

I had to have another look when I was shutting down, but by the time I logged back on, HD had beaten me to it.

Definately off now though!!

I seem to recognise the wing tip but not the tail. As obvious clues have been left in I'm guessing something that we normally see as a single fin/rudder is, in this case, a twin? Having said all that I've no idea... yet!

Your powers of deduction are serving you well, sir! Good hunting. I did remove the aircraft serial, ever since I discovered that you can google 'em

I did mate but as usual I thought about it but then didn't say it! I couldn't find a twin-fin Beau! Bugger!

Its all sunshine and blue skies believe it or not, as I look out of the window, maybe we should have more volcanoes? The flight ban has been extended again though ansd its is playing havoc with my asthma. The medication I'm on has prevent me having ANY attacks for the last ten years and I've had five this week! And yet they say its all in the upper atmosphere and has not come down in South Yorkshire yet? hmm.

Your pic has got me wondering. I first thought of the C-123, but then noticed the inverted gull wing and that has got me pondering. Is it even American?

No mate. Thanks for the on-the-spot weather coverage. Glad you're not black with soot! A case for deep breaths and ventolin?

Yep. Your control Doug. Sorry for the delay, I'm in and out of the lounge-room watching Heartbeat.

A flying boat or WIGE of somekind? Certainly not designed for high altitudes! I'd guess at French or Russian?

Yes Graeme, thats the order of the day (week) for me.

Latest pick looks awfully like the Westland Dreadnought to me

Not French, Russian or a flying boat. WIGE ??? - not familiar with that one.

.....and in any case HD has it. Westland Dreadnought mailplane 1923.
So HD has control and I can go offline without holding things up. Cheers Doug

Thanks. BTW, WIGE stands for 'Wing In Ground Effect' and are also called Ekranoplans. I'm sure you know the rest.

Here's one which I thought looked incredibly hard when I cropped it, but now I dont think it is any more. time will tell

edit, it would have been over in moments if I'd not gone back in and changed the file name, Duh! Was anyone quick enough?
