Not the Warwick but you're in the right stable. This version had an odd looking nose.

Noyade's post was superb. He actually satisfied the title of the thread. Finally, a hero among ppruner's. My single reservation is; Are we looking for a specific mark or version of the silhoutette in question? If that is the case, I have 854 threads that need clarifying.

I agree. I think the extra dimension of a photo silhouette ups the challenge! The 3-views are getting less challenging for some (and not always me)?!?

Having said that I love it. Its like a brain trainer!

I'd go for that. Let's see what the others think. Of course it could still include some partial 3-views and sometimes could even be partial silhouettes justto add to the mystery.

Any way, for now do I have control Noyade?

Keeping things going I'll assume the open house mate....

How about this?

I think the poster should state what they are looking for and that way it is clear. M

Note that others have also posted silhouetted images recently - Beardmore Inflexible, my Saturn-Avia Cub, Victoria etc.......

The problem I find is that I don't have enough computer smarts to make the photo silhouettes. I've tried many many times and failed. I only have basic paint and have tried to 'reverse' the images like a negative but no matter what I try it just doesn't work. The only solution I find is that the original image MUST be dark to begin with, if that makes any sense.

Thanks Martin!

and have tried to 'reverse' the images like a negative but no matter what I try it just doesn't work
To give you an example, I thought this would be a good challenge but no matter what I tried with paint, the plane just got brighter and brighter and the background darker and darker...I'd welcome any advice on how to improve my technique.

Whereas this was dark to begin with and by altering the brightness, contrast and using a black paintbrush it come up pretty good....so I'll make this the new challenge...

I appreciate that David but I don't think it's fair to you to have to do it again and again.

If you copy to Paint and then use the "image" tab and go to "invert colours". That would get a silhouete. Then you can simply use the brush to over paint detail that you ant to hide.

Does that help?
