I don't mind jets, but this is "funny" by having swept tailplane with unswept wing, like the old Jet Commander. Does not look really American. More like German. Or a skinny, low winged Jet Commander.

Ah So Glasshopper,

Unswept wing eliminates tip stall pitch-up problem but decreases MCRIT.

Swept tail increases longitudinal stability moment arm.

Blah, blah, blah........off to bed soon.....

Just spent a couple of hours with NASA's paper on the subject. Fun! The unswept wing will have a larger CLmax too. On my swept wing tail less RC-models I normally reduce the sweep at the tip to prevent tip stall and pitch up. Haven't seen this plane before. Won't be long before I'll hit the hay.

Evening everyone...I see you have been speculating!

Catching up, the only guess is from RR, and no, its not an Aerostar 800 (whatever that is!). If thats a Ted Smith project then see my response to EvansB.

ExecJets with straight wings/swept tail....plenty around including the worlds most popular, the Cessna CitationJet range (the T tails ones).

Anyhow, so far, EvansB has been the closest....but its not a Ted Smith project...but there is a connection.

RR, found the Aerostar 800....it was a high performance version of the Aerostar 700 with uprated Lycoming props...not jets.

An IAI-project?

LM. Normally fly at Re-numbers 80 000 - 400 000, but the speedy things will come above 3 000 000.

Sablatnic...not an IAI project

RR....not the Aerostar/Foxjet FJ100

Just to assist, as previously advised there is a tenuous link with Ted Smith. To take that further that link is with the Ted Smith Aerostar aircraft, as opposed to Foxjet models.

This is a US designed project which never made it beyond the planning stage.

Can't locate a diagram but have read of a Model 4000 Turbofan Aerostar?

Any chance of revealing the decade or possibly the year of design?
