Evening RR, just finished work

Blimey WTFO is that!!! Was it an actual product/concept? It looks more like something from Monty Python's Terry Gilliam after eating too much late night cheese!!!

Edited to say; perhaps it's me hallucinating then 'coz it's just dissapeared

Edited again; I guess RR had to go and can't monitor his challenge and has decided to withdraw it. I'd like to see it come back sometime as from my fleeting glance it was really weird!!!

So it's still Open House

SincoTC,

I agree, it looked really weird. From my brief glimpse, it seemed to be some sort of ekranoplan, possibly a Russian concept drawing.
Will keep searching until someone posts another challenge.

No shambles David just a quiet day. Have a great Easter break yourself.

Here is a nice easy one to keep things moving.

Good evening Mel,

I expect it's going to be a quiet weekend too!

I'm a bit unsure of the correct identity of your challenge, I haven't found any three-views, but two different aircraft appear on the web and look pretty close to your drawing, but they are distinguished with with different captions to the same photograph

So is it a Curtiss CR-3/4 or a Navy-Wright NW-2 or summat else entirely??

Hi Trevor
It is indeed the Navy-Wright NW-2

Your control.

Easter Greetings.

Trevor, am I walking into a trap, as it looks very much like the Sukhoi Su-2 and by the look of Mel's list one we've already had?

(I notice also that Image Verification is back. )

Good evening Greame and a Happy Easter to you too

Are you going to be around for the weekend?? It looks like nearly every other bugger is away at the moment !!

(I notice also that Image Verification is back. )
Not for me just now mate, hopefully it was a temporary glitch !!

I did experience some difficulties after I logged out last night and found that I couldn't navigate away from the Prune Main Forum page that it returned to after log-out, and any selection merely returned to that page, so maybe the previous setup was restored (with verification, but why for each post?) while this new bug was sorted out??

Trevor, am I walking into a trap, as it looks very much like the Sukhoi Su-2 and by the look of Mel's list one we've already had?
Oh dear! It looks like me who's walked into a trap Well spotted mate

σΥΘΟΚ ϋβ

I found it on the Airwar website as "Dry SB Sturmovik Bomber" (see link above), I saw it was down as manufactured by Sukhoi starting in 1938 with first flight in 1940 and did a search for it in Mel's list in all variations without a hit. I looked in aviastar, but missed it on the Sukhoi list as the Su-2 was listed as 1937, and as I'm not in any way as familiar with aircraft of that era as you are, I didn't spot the now obvious similarity of the small image and so didn't open it and see the three-view

Edited to say that the link has come up in Russian, but the translate button will reveal all! Oddly, now I'm looking, I have found the Su-2, but it was under the bomber, rather than the stormtrooper category, with a different three-view and some changed data, but it does include some of the same photos as my entry and I'm sure it's the same machine!!! I have noticed annoying anomalies on this site before and will have to be more cautious in future !

Therefore, I will declare my challenge null and void and call an Open House

You too mate!

hopefully it was a temporary glitch !!
Very, very odd mate, it's not there now?! I don't understand that.
Oh dear! It looks like me who's walked into a trap
Well, you're a very clever man mate and I thought there may be another Russian aircraft that looked quite similar. I had a look at a Blandford painting (God bless you Kenneth Munson) and noticed the very different leading edge, see below...

Are you going to be around for the weekend??
I have tomorrow off but work Monday which is a public holiday (ANZAC Day - God bless Australia! ) so I'll post this as a challenge. I found it while looking for Martin's twin turboprop from earlier...

Thanks Graeme,

I'm glad to hear that the verification box has gone for you too now! I wonder if anyone has Carson1934's email address, it would be nice to let him know it's gone, as I recall that it seemed to be what caused him so much grief logging in and to give up playing!!

I had a look at a Blandford painting (God bless you Kenneth Munson) and noticed the very different leading edge,
It looks to me like Blandford may have missed that detail, the side elevation looks right and seems to take into account the non-swept section of L/E, but I've not seen any three-views or photos that show his straight edged version, have you??

Your latest challenge looks like the Dominion Skytrader 800 of 1975 ?

Well, that's the crazy thing Trevor, that's why I thought yours may not be a Sukhoi, because everything I have does NOT show that straight-edged bit...

Happy Easter
Speaking of which, telly is rather religious tonight. One channel is showing The Ten Commandments with Charlton Heston for the thousandth time, however I watched a rather gritty Australian Drama, "Animal Kingdom". We don't make many good flicks in this country, in my opinion, but if you get a chance, give it a whirl!

Thanks Graeme,

I'll take a look at that movie as soon as I can

Doing some gardening this afternoon, as it's a cloudless 30C weekend here for a nice change!!

This one should prove pretty easy; it too is one I found looking for another challenge.
