I'm out here, although PPRuNe keeps kicking me out and sometimes refusing me back (not me with my credentials, but access to the server).
Need some kind of additional clue. I am sure I have seen this, I feel that we have had it, or another with very similar setting. Gone through all Belgians for the above feeling. The pretty pointed fin/rudder rings a bell, but I cannot find the bell. Disturbing . Tell me, would this be a rare monoplane version of a biplane?

Sorry mate - the engineer has been fixing my phone line (168m from the house) and during that time I lost internet also.
Clues then:
Forget Europe and move much further away.
The previous original version of this aeroplane was a cabin aircraft designed for a 40hp engine. The designer was unable to obtain this engine and used an 80hp Anzani instead. Because it was now overpowered it did not get airworthiness approval.
The challenge aeroplane is a re-designed and re-named version.
More clues soon.

It is the sequel of WICKO CABIN SPORTS VH-UPW, which is in Queensland Air Museum in Caloundra.
Charles Kingsford Smith asked to test fly the Wicko and spent ½ hour in 2 flights, including loops. He was very complimentary and remarked on the fact that it would not spin, and had a high rate of climb - not surprising with 80hp in a 40hp airframe. In 1931, Wikner established an Australian altitude record for light aircraft of 17000ft., flying from Archerfield. DCA would not issue a Certificate of Airworthiness for the aircraft as it was deemed understrength for the 80hp engine. At the same time, he entered into an abortive partnership with a dishonest man, and as a result the aircraft was sold, but because of the certification problem, he redesigned the machine as the Wicko Lion. The Anzani engine however seized in flight and another redesign resulted in the Wicko Wizard, a low wing monoplane fitted with a used Cirrus engine received as part payment for an Avro Avian he rebuilt.

Hi RR. It is the Helio HST-550 Stallion from 1964, probably the last surviving N550HE, in private ownership.
Won a tender for 2400 but the country in question temporarily run out of suitable wars to use them, and only 20 were built.
Edit: Scrap the Courier.
RR has the thread!
