I'd better say Guten Morgen Reg, as I guess you've turned in for the night by now!
I had a quick look after I finished work, but there was scant details at the time and I didn't think it was going to be an easy one!
Now I've finished my duties for the day apart from a last "walkies" for the mut, I've had a chance to try and untangle all the clues that have arrived since I last looked.
After a bit of convoluted translation I have found the "Leningradets" Built by three amateurs, Tatsiturnovym, Kostin and Sekirin. It appears to have been flown without proper permits at a time when private flying was unheard of in the Soviet Union! Unfortunately, despite promising performances it crashed after about twenty hours flying time including aerobatics, apparently due to "pilot error"
The image shows the fat pitot tube, but I note that the accompanying 3-view doesn't, so I'm guessing that's another bit of photoshop jiggery-pokery by RD!!
Now where's that cockpit illustration lurking !!

Good morning TC!
You found it .
The source where the 3D is from calls it Univ Leningrad Leningradec, so I assume these three gentlemen were students at that university. Here's another couple of pictures of it, and you can see from them, and from yours, that LM's observation was good indeed. It IS small.
There seems to have been a story about it in a 1962 issue of a Russian aviation magazine (I'll find the issue number if someone would be interested). Your photo is probably retouched from this one, as was the usual practice there.
As to the WC, that's the one, too. Planned a hat trick with WA, but apparently have posted before the airport where they flew from (or couldn't identify it, although it is said to be close tho the new Gazprom-City project). And, in addition, could not crack Phileas' challenge .
Over to you TC!

Guten Tag Reg and thanks for a challenging Challenge!
A beautiful morning here and the mut is hankering after the beach before work, I can see from the window that the tide is on the way out and the water will soon be several kilometers from the sand, so will be offline soon for a while.
Here's my latest Challenge!

Good evening Graeme(again ),
It is the Moskalev SAM-25
Sounds a bit like a missile doesn't it, but you certainly scored a direct hit and a double with my cockpit challenge too
Noyade has control
BTW, regarding your Braun XR-1 challenge, did you realise that it would have been Werner's 99th Birthday yesterday?

I hate to say this, especially after the smart guy's latest challenge, but I will be now off for seaside for the weekend.
The birds there will still have a lot of feathers on, but worth watching, nevertheless .
Keep having fun gentlemen!

Allright dog, I'm coming
This is also my last day on thread.
off for seaside for the weekend.
Tricycle under-cart David. I believe that "thing" protects the pusher-prop from striking the ground. Pretty clever, eh? Must have been a real smart bastard to think of that. Clever man from a clever country!
Gonna retire. 2306 hrs. See you again?

I don't believe it! I log in for the first time in a couple of days to find both the Leningradets and Facet Opel put up as challenges. Why don't I believe it you may ask - only because they are 2 of the 3 challenges I had prepared for my return this weekend . Come on then, someone come up with the third one!!!
'Artnoon mate.
I'm certain that I have cracked it, but we're back to the same problem.
Graeme is , so I'll post a new one if people agree that there is no doubt.

'Artnoon LM and welcome back Ken,
Can't stop to participate now, but just placing a casting vote if one is required! I'm sure that David's shot at the Facet Opel is correct and that Graeme would expect us to carry on!
Catchya later, have a good break David

Somebody has to be on thread soon!.
My hunch is that it will be TC, maybe followed by Graeme.
After the vote of confidence I'll throw up a new one - I am able to monitor until lunch tomorrow (2300 NSW).
