Looks a little like a Piaggio P.149 but I don't think it is.

You're spot on Mr Treads. Only four Fairey Fantomes made. And such lovely lines. Wish I were more eponymous. Ogden Nash could have worked a rhyme on that.

I agree it is - or, sadly, WAS - a most beautiful looking aeroplane. If ever I won the lottery I wonder if Tony Ditheridge's craftsmen could build me a reproduction.

I have nothing (I am at work and won't be home till about 2300 tonight), so anybody please feel free to leap in.

The aircraft is actually a P-11 AirTruck, but close enough for me.
