Guten Tag Reg,

I haven't seen any photos of it and my source doesn't say, however, another well known web encyclopedia type site describes it as if it did fly!

Going offline for a while, will put light back on in about thirty mins.

Morning TC.

If it's not Australian but "not a million miles away", my first thought was NZ, but they really didn't build helicopters at the time from which this thing seems to hail.

Therefore I assume it's somewhere North of Oz.

Looks single-seat.

TC I am so bad with helicopters.

For Graeme, when he wakes up: I tested goooogling my Chinese challenge to see if it could have been found with the clues I gave, and it is. An additional clue for that (and I have used the technique often): GoogleTranslate is your friend, also when you wish to gooogle other than latin alphabets. And, BTW, GT is much better than its reputation if one wants to have a gist of what is going on and not necessarily an accurate translation. It helps if you know (several) other languages than English because then you may be able to figure out why some translations look stupid (like knowing that in German the verb tends to go to the end of the sentence, and similar features in other languages). GT is not so good in figuring out long sentences fully.

Logging off now. Missus-shop-sunshine-park-syndrome.

'Tiz innit

As far as I can see it was entirely indegenous, but as Bratukhin lived 'til 1985 and his bureau was dissolved in 1951, I suppose it's possible that he may have gone there!

Bugger - I'm the only one here and can't find it!

Since you say you could not find an illustration of it, I am not looking for one.

There's a very good site, which will unfortunately be highlighted when it's full name is revealed, as that's the only way Goggle will find it, but a bit easier on another site as I mentioned above (but only a description).

Good job Ken isn't about, as I'm pretty sure some of his challenges have come from the good site (Goggling his revealed challenge is how I found it)!!

Edited to say you're not alone any more, I see one11 is out there! Shout if any more clues are required!

I assume that was the Sikorsky X-2/S-97.

Now, I wonder what you typed into Goggle when looking for that!

So far I have tried:

"co-axial pusher prop helicopter"
"pusher prop helicopter"
"co-axial helicopter"

..................

Hmm, I don't think it was that one, it was quite a while ago I think and not a modern machine (whatever it was, I just put in its full title, not characteristics and it was at the top of the list, just as this one will be)!

You should be looking for a site that sounds like what "did for" Steve Irwin!

Or for the other site:

Although it wasn't his encyclopedia; there was a Canadian Ice Hockey player who may help if you can find him on a more well known site, he was also known for his off-ice antics and legal problems

BTW, I see that Reg is back and trying to understand my cryptic clues too!!

Not Marie-Philip Poulin, I did say "was"! What kind of ray?

LM's got the puck and running, it should be easy now!

Edited to say ten minutes now, what's keeping him? He's got the country and I think he's got the correct site, maybe he needs to advance his search techniques!
