Looks like something to have planned for Air Ministry Specification R1/36 but never saw the light of the day. Retractable float. Blackburn?

Not a Blackburn. Designed as a mail carrier, it never went beyond the drawing board.

Mail carrier...... So it was not a finger-flexing exercise for Saunders-Roe SRA/1....

Good afternoon evansb,

I think it's the CAPRA R.80 Franco-Portuguese project of 1942 to fly mail on the Lisbon-New York route ?

Just for fun DFS Jacht 71, because I have not found any pictures and the plane shows some Kranich-like features (in my eye) .

Good morning/G'evening/guten tag,

About eight hours without another nibble; so here's a little clue!

the designer of this little craft went on to much higher achievements, although, (as far as I can ascertain) this is the only one to carry his name

Re. RRs' post #20386.

Did anyone notice that I posted the Carpenter Monoplane just a few days ago?

Morning LM,

Yes, I noticed the re-appearance of the Carpenter during a hurried break and was going to point it out, but Brian's answer appeared just as I was about to log-on, so rather than disrupt the flow and thinking that you'd appear any moment, I let it pass!

Off to work now, will turn my light on when I get there.
