MicroHamrah 5th September 2012 11:55

chrisbeckett2004 how soon after completing the test did you get an e-mail? Was it like an automated response? I'm on the next day now and still nothing!

chrisbeckett2004 5th September 2012 12:12

MicroHamrah I completed it about 6pm and found out the next morning about 10am the next day ie. not an automated response. However, some people didn't find out for a few days so patience is the key I think!

PS. Well done LGW_08R!!

Simon89 5th September 2012 12:30

If people are looking for places to stay I'd recommend looking at the Southampton Premier Inn, it's where I stayed for my 3 stages. Clean, comfortable room and took about 15 mins to drive to the CTC. Paid £29 for each night.

MicroHamrah 5th September 2012 12:40

Thanks again Chris!

mts1 5th September 2012 12:42

sambatc: :) I understand you, I wonder the same thing, why some yes and others no... we're in the same position!. Time...

LGW_08R 5th September 2012 13:03

Cheers guys. At the moment, the only date available is tomorrow morning! Thinking that might be too early so will possibly wait for the next ones to come up.

Kimmikins, essentially yeah. It really gets you thinking about yourself though. Apparently you complete practically the same questionnaire at CTC during stage 2, so there is no point bluffing your answers as I suspect you would get caught out. I was just honest, and sometimes critical of myself. Presto, got through.

Prestwick isn't a NATS airport so I would very much doubt it.

Since when?

Last year it was :s?????????

Frenchmax 5th September 2012 15:58

Hello,
I took the online test five minute ago. I am now waiting for an answer.
I can tell that is a very simple test, but I find it a bit hard. The difficulty is the time. You have to be fast and accurate. I have to reckon that my heart was bitting fast. I tried to keep my cool and focus. I think I did it well...

No it isn't, the Prestwick Centre is run by NATS, but ATC at Prestwick airport is nothing to do with them

Online assessment

Hi everyone looking for some help and advise. Been invited to carry out the online assessment and was looking for some advise on how to do it. Is it hard? Once you select the link does this start the online assessment or is there an oppertunity to practice? How long will it take and are there any other tools or websites similar that can be used. Thanks for your help

chejar 5th September 2012 19:04

Hi guys,

I take myonline test yesterday, I believe it went very well, how long to receive anynews from them?

Tnkx

chrisbeckett2004 5th September 2012 19:48

Online assessment

Hi everyone can someone tell me more about what u need to do on the online assessment and are there any other training tools you can use for practice.

dodgygearbox 5th September 2012 20:15

First post!

Hi guys, ive been following the posts for a while but just decided to join now.

First I would like to say that I applied very early july so was gutted when everyone applying in Aug got their invites to the online test.
But since then I have got the invite to the online test, done it, now I m going to Swanwick for Stage 1 next week! :O

Just trying to prepare for the test(s) and find it difficult to find many test/quizzes/questions for diagramming online. any help?

How are people finding the booklet you need to know? Is it important to know every model of aircraft and all their details?

Also cheers for all the info posted here!

chejar 5th September 2012 20:26

Got it ;)
Probably thebiggest thread ever... ;)

malakajin 5th September 2012 20:32

is SDM still on stage 2 along with DART?

Crazy Voyager 6th September 2012 06:06

The stage 1 booklet is there to be read and studied. However so far I don't think anyone has been asked in detail questions during stage 1, they're of a more general nature. Having said that though if you get accepted you will have to learn even more details about aircraft so you might as well get started erly IMO.

I have no clue if the SDM is still around (I did my stage 2 before DART came around) but hope it is because it was good fun :p

dodgygearbox 6th September 2012 09:24

What does SDM stand for???

KRepton 6th September 2012 09:33

Just received an email. They have cancelled my stage 1 as it will now be done at the NOVOTEL. they will make it around the same time as i had already booked and will let me know shortly.

bobit 6th September 2012 09:34

For those who still need to book their slot for stage 1 I've just checked and there was about 20 listings from the 26th Sep to the 3rd Oct. I've booked onto the 26th September one. They have changed the venue for these days, instead of being held at NATS they are held at the Novotel in Southampton. Might make the traveling a little easier for some.

chrisbeckett2004 6th September 2012 10:34

LOADS of dates up right now if people want them! end of september and start of october!

chrisbeckett2004 6th September 2012 10:51

Booked a date and room now! Just so I know, if you are asked to stay for the afternoon, how long does it last? Just looking at booking a train/coach! cheers!

Crazy Voyager 6th September 2012 11:11

Don't take it as gospel because it's been a while but IIRC my stage 1 took under 3 hours.

Kimmikins 6th September 2012 12:05

Well, I've done the Bio-date Questionnaire and, while not as time consuming as it used to be, it still made me worry that I was trying to give them the answers they wanted! I tried to be as honest as I could be, so now I wait....

chrisbeckett2004 6th September 2012 12:07

thanks Crazy Voyager!! its just because it says if you pass your first tests you will be asked to stay for more tests...Am I to assume you took 3 hours and that included staying for the extra tests?? Thanks!

Crazy Voyager 6th September 2012 12:29

Since I passed all my stages yes, the 3 hours include all the 4 papers.

I had the morning slot and made a flight out of Heathrow by 6 with around 2 hours margin as far as I can remember. We can disregard the fact that a thunderstorm caused me to end up in Copenhagen instead of Gothenburg

If you want the exact times and the entire story I think I posted it here, the post should be from just after rememberance day so November 13th I'd guess.

Edit: My stage 1 was 2 years ago now, so you have to go back to november 2011 to find it.

TR24 6th September 2012 14:52

Had an email to say mine was re-arranged, so I've changed from the 26th to the 3rd and cancelled the premier inn i had booked. Booked to stay at the Novotel as they accept Avios points.

JackRalston 6th September 2012 15:06

Just booked my Stage 1 test, 26th September at 16:00, Novotel Hotel, going to fly from MAN on 25th and then stay at the hotel, fly back on 27th :ok:

chrisbeckett2004 6th September 2012 17:38

Looks like most People are getting the dates they want now! Good luck to all involved.. Time to get suited and booted!!

mishaastaroth 6th September 2012 19:16

I've booked mine for the 26th sept at 10:00 :)
we'll see how it goes..

therealist 6th September 2012 20:38

cld anyone post a link to some stage 1 revision/exercise material please?! I know its on this thread somewhere but searching back 400+ pages is a bit tiresome!
cheers

Chewy3112 6th September 2012 21:18

Hi megamc

It's a basic checking test where you just select a corresponding piece of info from a list!! The hard bit is its timed!!!!
I didn't think I did too well but managed to pass so just take it as it comes!!!

pun12 7th September 2012 00:19

time limit

Hi, guys
I am also coming to the interview on the 26th of sept, thinking of flying to southampton. But does any one know, how long they take in replying back from the interview, it say's 15 working days in the email. But has anyone had it before that time, what is the general feedback time. oh and if anyone is flying to southampton from manchester for the interview, would like to join them.

thanks guys.

Frenchmax 7th September 2012 08:53

Hi,
I received my invitation to stage 1 this morning., two days after I passed the online test.
There are links in the mail to download the documents ( Material test and Nats practice leaflet). So don't worry about it, if you passed the online test you will have it.

The mail also says that stage 1 will begin by one test, if you failed you're out, If you passed then two more tests.

Megamc 7th September 2012 09:22

Thanls Chewy3112,
I have passed my test online and received the email with the dates, See you there :D

chejar 7th September 2012 10:34

Hi guys,

I did my online test 3 days ago and still no answer. Do they reply even if you fail or is it normal to take this long, all the post I read give me the impression that they receive an email either the next day or 2 days after.

Thnkx and congratulations to all that are getting through ;)

sorinc03 7th September 2012 11:14

Hi chejar,
I took the test yesterday and I haven't yet got a reply either.

I would like to know the answer to your question as well :-)

chejar 7th September 2012 11:25

Forget my last msg, just receive my confirmation to stage 1 ;)
and... "let's get ready to ruuuuuuuuuuuuuumble..." :)

sorinc03 7th September 2012 12:32

So I guess they'll get to me soon since I did it yesterday then :)

chejar 7th September 2012 13:28
