TR24: Yes me.
I booked the 3 October at 10:00.
I received the email 1 hour ago.
I sent an email back explaining this is not very convenient since I have already booked Hotel, train and was about to do the same for the plane. Attractive fair are now gone so It will be probably more expensive now to book for the 4th.

I asked if they can propose and other schedule.
I am waiting the answer.

owensamuel 17th September 2012 13:30

I also received the e-mail TR24 advising it had been changed to the 4th.

TR24 17th September 2012 13:33

I've been told i can keep mine for the 3rd but do it at Whiteley, as close to the original time slot as available.

This mean's I'm going to have to arrange getting from the Novotel to Whiteley. This is the 2nd time it's been rearranged, i'm wondering if it'll happen again.

Frenchmax 17th September 2012 14:10

TR 24: same for me. I think easy way to get to CTC is Taxi. It will cost about 25 GBP, so 50 GBP return. I am not sure what to do. It is so easy to get to Novotel from train station....It's a shame. But it is also the opportunity to see the CTC...

logex 17th September 2012 14:23

me too I have just received the email that communicate that I'm now booked for the 4th october. fortunately I hadn't booked my flight yet. however the location is the novotel

logex 17th September 2012 14:26

anyone has accepted the new slot for the 4th ?

dmc02 17th September 2012 14:46

Hi, does anyone know if there are online resources to practice the tests that will make up assessment day 2?

GAPSTER 17th September 2012 15:08

You'll enjoy that!

owensamuel 17th September 2012 15:29

My time slot has now been changed to:

Interview Date & Time (start):Wed 03/10/2012 15:00 BST
Interview Date & Time (end):Wed 03/10/2012 17:00 BST
Additional Time Slot Information:NATS Corporate & Technical Centre (CTC) 4000 Parkway Whiteley Fareham, Hants PO15 7FL

Anyone at the same time want to share a taxi from Novotel?

TR24 17th September 2012 16:10

Just had my email saying im now on the 3rd at 9am at CTC. Clicked the link and changed it to 10am, hopefully will miss a bit of the rush hour traffic.

Not Long Now 17th September 2012 16:13

Train from southampton to swanwick is about £5 return, and 20 minutes. 20 minute walk from swanwick station to CTC, free. Just a thought.

owensamuel 17th September 2012 16:20

Thanks not long now. Certainly cheaper than a taxi and sounds a lot easier than the buses.

CDNATPL 17th September 2012 18:20

Can anyone confirm that the retirement age of 60 at NATS is no longer madatory?

whitelighter 17th September 2012 18:51

That is correct. As long as you can maintain your medical you can work until you die if you want. You become eligible for your pension at 58 still.

Crazy Voyager 18th September 2012 06:52

@dcm2
There are no specific resources to practice for stage 2 and ou don't reall need any, I mostly played tetris myself, probably didn't help a bit ut was good fun

If you still want to practice there is an old thread somewhere with resources for stage 3, I don't think there's much in it though, and I still don't reall think it will help you to be honest. A good night's sleep and a proper breakfast on the other ahnd ;)

logex 18th September 2012 14:12

I have just booked my flight and hotel.. I sleep in the star hotel from 2nd oct to 5th oct.

I'm booked for 4th oct at 1 pm at the novotel no one for this date?;);)

skarola87 18th September 2012 14:51

stage 1

Hi mtsi: with the motivation paper we had to read, do we also have to learn all the aircrafts, no of seats, fl, speed etc?? would that be on the test??

would appreciate your reply,

cheers
K

Frenchmax 18th September 2012 14:58

Finally I will take my stage 1 the 4th at 10:00 at the Novotel. I will stay at the Ibis hotel, near the Novotel. I will arrive the 3rd.

This is the date and time I've chosen. I realised it was easier to change my hotel date than to arrange getting from Southampton to Whiteley. I was flying down from Manchester, but the prices have gone up so I'm probably going by train now.

GAPSTER 18th September 2012 17:10

"You become eligible for your pension at 58 still"

If you are referring to the ATCO grade, under the flexible retirement scheme you can take your pension at 55 in line with national legislation.

JoeFairs 18th September 2012 18:18

Have just discovered this forum

Hi all, did my Stage 1 last Friday. Amazed at how many people dropped out after first test - thought was relatively simple if you could do maths and had done your prep.

In the diagramming test I felt I really nailed it, answered all 50 and can't see I got many wrong. Unfortunately I found the spatial reasoning test so tough, answered around 28 of the 40....,hopefully majority of them were right but not hugely convinced!

Anyone know if it is combined score of 2 tests or a minimum standard in both - hopefully combined or I may be struggling!

How has everyone else found it?

sshortt 18th September 2012 18:45

Hey, how did you manage to get into ATC at Belfast? i've been trying with no joy :(

CJCymru 18th September 2012 21:02

If anyone wants to share a taxi from Premier Inn to NATS CTC, just let me know!

My interview is at 08:15, 20/09/12 (basically this Thursday...)

Assessment Day 2

Hey Guys.

I am sitting Assessment day 2 on the 28th september, staying at De Veres New Place because it was cheap on late rooms! forking out for more taxi's and flights!

Just doing a lot of memory tests and numeracy tests in prepartion, found a couple of good atc apps on android... but does anyone have any more information about the FEAST Test and DART and SDM!?!?!?

HarveyV 19th September 2012 03:03

Hello everybody, i had to change my NATS first stage interview date literally 30 odd hours before my initial chosen date.

I was just wondering if this would be okay? or did i just make a grave mistake.

Cb85 19th September 2012 09:38

xk2102 19th September 2012 10:19

Hi guys!

Are we allowed to have a piece of paper and a pen on the stage 1 tests?

Thanks in advance.

Which apps are you using?

Thanks,

therealist 19th September 2012 12:03

just had the dreaded email to say didnt get through to stage 2....

absolutely gutted to be fair as I know what I answered of the diagramming and cubes atleast 90% would of been right, just simply didnt answer enough questions in allocated time so I suppose my advice to people still waiting to sit stage 1 wld be really try and answer all or most of the diagramming and spatial reasoning questions even if that means filling in random answers at the end....

dodgygearbox 19th September 2012 12:34

@therealist

Better luck next time, atleast you now know what you need to do when you sit it next time.

How many questions did you answer for diagramming/cubes? you got me a little worried too, when did you sit your stage one?

Cheers

Frenchmax 19th September 2012 13:03

@therealist
Sorry for you.
I was actually wondering if it is possible to fill in random without "losing point".
How it works ? you've got only positive point or you can have negative point at each bad answer?
We don't know, maybe they look the ratio good answer/total answer and then they look to the total answer and attribute a whole mark.
So maybe it can be dangerous to fill in random....

therealist 19th September 2012 13:11

I would say with a lot of confidence that it is marked as a whole ie. if you dont answer a question then you get 0 and that counts towards overall mark..... as like I say im certain I got atleast 90% of diagramming and cubes that I answered correct....

I answered 36/50 diagramming and 26/40 cubes....

t2522 19th September 2012 14:24

were the spatial reasoning and diagramming questions similar to the one's we received in the stage 1 confirmation email? Were they easier or more complex?

Crazy Voyager 19th September 2012 14:29

During my stage 1 they specifically said there is no negative marking, but this may have changed.

Also remember that by the end of the day we actually don't know what they are looking for, it may be speed, it may be accuracy, it may be a combination. It may be not having more than 10 faults (random number) regardless of questions asked, and so on.

The only thing that can be done is your very best, exactly what NATS are looking for we will never know, just make sure you do your best because that really is the only thing you can do.

roundpole 19th September 2012 15:26

cant take this any much longer. I need to know my results !!!

Kaate 19th September 2012 17:30

I've been following this forum for quite a while now, but haven't posted or anything. I had my stage one on the 14th in the afternoon and haven't heard anything yet. I wasn't bothered but then I saw that I think that TheRealist was at the same assessment as me and has already had a response! (by the way, sorry it didnt work out for you this time :(, are you going to apply again in the future?) I'm anxious now to hear something!! I just want to know!! :) We'll see!! :)

logex 19th September 2012 19:53

how much time for each question?

Terrier1 19th September 2012 21:59

Ouch,
@therealist
You have shattered my faint hopes!
Unlucky on not passing, hope they put me out of my misery soon.
See you on the next recruitment round

Scott C 19th September 2012 22:06

Hi all, I received an email today from NATS following my Stage 1 Assessement last week, and, as they say on Dragons Den... I'm out! :(

I answered 46/50 on the diagramming and only 30/40 on the cubes, so maybe it wasn't enough, or I got a fair few wrong...who knows?!

For those asking about timings (If I remember correctly):

Test 1 = 18 mins (30 Questions) - Those that fail this test are sent home.
Test 2 = 25 mins (50 Questions)
Test 3 = 20 mins (40 Questions)

Good Luck to the rest of you! :)

harker 20th September 2012 08:25

stage one tests

Sorry to bother you guys, I have my stage one test soon,
I had a quick look through the posts but couldn't find what I was after.

Are the tests multiple choice?

Do I need to learn all of the planes?

and are all the maths S/D/T questions or should I be revising other area's of maths?

I appreciate the help if possible.

Thanks.
