I doubt it, as far as I am aware LBA has 752 and 733s if there is a based -800 it will be only one, the rest are at MAN, EMA and GLA.:uhoh:

LBA currently has 1x based Boeing 737-800 scheduled this summer and over the winter period. As the scheduled stands this will increase to 2x next summer season replacing one of the 9x based Boeing 737-300's

The Travel Service wet leased NG is in ACE for the winter but it returns to the UK next summer, leaving no Jet2 presence in ACE. As such, I'm not sure ACE can be described as "the next non UK Jet2 base".

Pedantry and semantics maybe but I understand ALC and ACE are very different beasts.

The logic behind the ACE base was purely down to aircraft performance. Even with the high MTOW 737-300's based at BLK & BFS, on days where headwinds are strong or the aircraft had a particularly heavy payload they wre tech stopping in FAO.

So to eliminate this either 737-800's had to be based at BLK & BFS or better still put one in ACE and boost capacity on other ACE-UK routes a la MAN & GLA.

With regards to the 'tech' issue - there are various standby aircraft in the UK, so worst case scenario it's gonna be a 4-5 hour delay whilst it is scrambled down there. No different to any single aircraft bases any other airline has.

NCL-ALC has not been pulled for next summer. Jet 2 are operating 10 weekly flights from NCL next year using an NCL based aircraft. Check the Jet2 website.

That is the schedule for the ALC based aircraft.

If you read my post properly you will see that I say "I see they have pulled flights FROM ALC to NCL next summer" and "Of course they will still have flights". That was in reference to there still being flights with a NCL based aircraft to ALC.

The flight that has been dropped, and that I was talking about, was the ALC based aircraft that flys into NCL at 09:35 once or twice a week. That has been dropped next year.

if they've made the 10th weekly service into one operated by based NCL aircraft instead, perhaps there's been an "adjustment" on another route. Or there's going to be another aircraft to be based.

The question is if Jet2 plans to operate something else with one of the two planes in the evenings.

Am i right in thinking GLA is to become a fully 738 base next year with 5 based units? Will this be the only base to have one standard of a/c based?

If so then it seems Jet2 are really stepping up the upgrade of the fleet to NG'S.

BLK, BFS & EDI are all the same standard aircraft of B737-300 bases

EDI is strictly a B737-300QC base. On occassion they do have 'regular' -300s rotating through to cover for the QCs

EMA used to be B757 only. 1 in 2010 and 2 in 2011. The only Jet2 base that didn't have a 737. Sadly no more. :{

LS151 - diverted to East Mids on route to DLM when it was over Holland/Germany.

It burnt a bit of fuel over Notts, landed safely and then closed the East Mids runway for a while forcing one Thomas Cook to divert to BHX.

Not sure about the other flight.

No idea but replacement aircraft now airborne EMA. It flew Leeds - Glasgow (191A) - EMA (42A) and out on the EXS151A EMA - DLM.

Must be some kind of problem with G-LSAC as this is its second divert today. It stopped off in Leeds/Bradford this afternoon while operating the EXS190 service from Palma to Glasgow

On another note I hear that Jet2 will be announcing a 5th new route for summer 2014 from Leeds sometime this week.

Loss of hydraulics with no nosewheel steering available. Landed at EMA and was towed off the runway.

I heard one of the ramp staff talk about an overheating issue as well, fire service certainly put some sort of fan onto the port MLG once it got to stand.

Someone somewhere got a bit twitchy too and they got the Police to close the M1 (and presumable the a453 too) in the undershoot until it landed.
