Jobs at East Midlands
Not sure wether this is the place to post but here goes.. Does anyone know of any jobs at EMA that are coming up or where to send a cv to. Am currently an ops Allocator at BHX but due to a recent takeover am looking at spreading my wings.. Please PM me if anyone can help i.e contact addresses etc..

Thanks in advance

OltonPete 3rd Feb 2010 20:07

Ryanair TSF - what a surprise but amazed no Malta as well.

At least as stated earlier aircraft number 7 will be on it's
way. FUE I am sure will be welcomed.

Baby have put nearly all eggs in one basket at EMA and FR
have responded as expected with Venice, Palma daily,
boosted Faro, Girona back to daily and Belfast City
staying at three daily for summer.

Ironically baby are taking two aircraft from bhx leaving
several routes under-served and FR have not had to do
anything (if they ever wanted to) this summer at all.

OliWW 5th Feb 2010 18:31

Just checked the frequencies on the new routes
Venice = Tue, Wed and Sat
Fuerteventura = Mon and Thu

However, looking at the Thursday times, there are 8 departures (with an extra RIX flight on a Thu)

757 Speedbrakes 7th Feb 2010 20:48

From post #1480:

Jet 2 timetable shows TFS as Fridays only this winter, with extra flights during the Christmas/New Year period only
SSH operating all winter 10/11 from EMA according to the timetable from the 'New Routes' page of the website :ok:

January pax down 17.6%
Source: CAA

January 2010 213409 down 17.6%

Not quite a whole month without easyjet but as good as I suppose.

At leas Jet2 are coming plus two Baby units and one more FR I believe, which should make things look a lot better in the summer.

paul atkins 10th Mar 2010 13:59

just announced on tv they are going to operate flights to chambery and geneva next winter did not say what frequencies

jpthomas72 10th Mar 2010 18:42

Yes, spotted this on theairdb, the Jet2 schedule is already on their website: It's once a week on Saturdays for both Chambery and Geneva. Filling up some chartered flights I guess. Hardly something to get excited about, there are way enough GVA connections from EMA and BHX in the ski season (EZY and WW).

SAM-EMA 10th Mar 2010 19:09

Jet2 website showing 1x weekly, both Geneva and Chambery on Mondays in December, Mondays and Saturdays in early January and Saturdays in late January to April, and seem to be W-pattern operated.

bmi baby 2010/11
new routes added colonge x6 and munich x4 from the start of the winter season

fanrailuk 11th Mar 2010 12:47

Where do you source this information? I'm guessing a nice tie-up with germanwings...any German routes destined for other bases??

jpthomas72 11th Mar 2010 17:32

new routes added colonge x6 and munich x4 from the start of the winter season
Good news :) Yes, indeed, check WW's timetable on their new website (I agree with most people, it's an awful website). Flying times to CGN are very decent, starting 31st Oct, going out 17:30, coming back 21:10. The flight number 56xx hints possibly at a code-share, but then from the schedule, it sounds more like WW's own metal. Very good news this also for people around BHX, as NRN is nowhere near CGN, and we lost HHN. MUC flight also v.good, e.g. a late Friday ideal for weekend trips, starting 17th Sep. Again the plane goes out at 7:00, so unlikely it's 4U operating this. Would have been great they started those a bit sooner. In their best aggresive days, FR would have opened EMA-HHN and EMA/BHX-FMM tomorrow.

jpthomas72 11th Mar 2010 18:19

... to add that BHX-CGN is also back, very same fashion as EMA-CGN, also 6x weekly by WW, starting end-Sep. After we had nothing from the region to CGN, soon it will be MAN, EMA and BHX :). I hope they keep this alive at least until the Nuerburgring race 2011, CGN is the best airport for this (sorry, off-topic, of course).

Car Parking - Credit Card Fee
What sort of rip-off does Ms Coates and and her team think this is?

You pay 1.90 for the privilage of using her badly managed, and totally inadequate short stay / drop off car park, and avail yourself of the opportunity to use your credit card for ease of access / exit, only to find yourself landed with a 1.50 admin fee for leaving their facility - total cost for less than 30 minutes = 3.40.

What sort of a p**s take is that?

I know that EMA is probably charging Michael O'Leary two halfs of nothing to grace their precious tarmac, but why should the poor b**gger who is dropping off or picking up their friends or relatives for pay for EMA's poor commercial judgement in what ever they do or don't charge airlines for the privelege of operating from there.

Am I being unreasonable?

Gang steal k's in dawn raid at bmibaby ticket desk
Now you all thought that threat level severe meant that " an attack was likely" so red face all round for plod and airport security when at 4 am this morning the joint facilities for bmibaby/Travelex was robbed, clearly inside information they knew what time to hit when the travelex staff opened up, so police incident tape accross the bmibaby walk up sales area.
